Here is more proof that Pink Floyd's, Dark Side of the Moon, was way ahead of its time.
"Oh, he's with Keith Richard this weekend voicing a new loudspeaker."
We had to ask.
A little research will show that Cliff's name is Richards. Just to clarify, Keith's name was changed by Andrew Loog Oldham, as the Rolling Stones were starting out, to Keith Richard to avoid any confusion of being related to Cliff Richards. As the Stones gained in popularity, Keith changed his name back to Richards, his real name. Keith never was fond of the name change idea in the first place.
>Just to clarify, Keith's name was changed by Andrew Loog Oldham, as the Rolling Stones were starting out, to Keith Richard to avoid any confusion of being related to Cliff Richards.I thought the story went that Keith changed his name from Richards to Richard in an attempt to resemble Cliff Richard, who was one of England's greatest stars at the time.Geez louise. Maybe I'll change my name from Mejias to Mejia in an attempt to resemble, um... nevermind. I mean, actually, I changed my name from Mejia to Mejias, so that people would think I'm related to the great bullfighter, Ignacio Sanchez.Ole!Incidentally, growing up, I lived on a street whose sign at one corner read," ""Richards"," and, at the other corner read, Richard."" I never knew which was correct.
