P.J. O'Rourke remarked that this election isn't about changing Washington. This election is a restraining order. Heh!

It's a shame there's no socialized medicine to provide psychotherapy to a large percentage of the US population who suffer from this peculiar phobia there're are reds hiding under their beds.

The reds are not hiding, they are overt about thier direction they want to take this country in... they passed socialized medicine in March. The same socialized medicine they exempted themselves from having to participate in.

Were sending them back into hiding in November.

You're as black and white in your political thinking as John Galt.
The term socialized medicine does not have the same meaning as 'Reds' unless you're a twit from the T Party. Lordy you people are paranoid.

Hiding under their beds!...you jest of course. They are in your face on TV every day and they infest the halls of Congress. If it smells like a Marxist, speaks like a Marxist and steals money like a Marxist, it is a Marxist even though it labels itself 'Progressive'.

Dude, at some point, you should look up the meaning of some of your vocabulary words.

Tonight's shootin' night at the club.

We have the liberal side and the conservative side of the range.

I have to shoot alone if I go to the liberal side.

JIMV, it ain't Marxism, any more than Bush/Cheney exemplified fascism.

(By the way, Harry Reid lost my liberal-ass vote. It was postponing a vote on the Bush tax increase that did me in. When a guy says, "Trust me to do the right thing....after I get what I want," it reminded me of what we teach our daughters to think when they hear that line: Just say no.)

Cheers, man.

Marxism by the book is an economic philosophy in which the state owns the means or production and does the employing. The problem with Marxism is, when the government owns everything they also own responsibility when it all goes bad, as some fine Marxist like Nicolae Ceauşescu. The Marxists and their enablers under a host of other names from Socialist to progressive, travelers all, all learned classic Marxism was a recipe for a bullet in front of the wall so they got innovative.

Today we have neo-Marxism in which private enterprise owns the means of production but government controls everything through regulation. As was demonstrated by the housing crisis and the banking crisis, the government role in the mess was blown off and it became evil banks and corporations and the evil rich that were to blame.

The result is the same, bloated government run by bureaucrats and unaccountable politicians. They call themselves progressive but they are simply Marxist wearing a new political costume.

JIMV is correct in the use of the term to identify this presidents policies. 3 trillion dollars in deficit spending in a little less than 2 years of massive wealth re-distribution.

If you read Karl Marx, you will see where Marx advocates "From each according to his ability, To each according to their needs."

Thats the Marxist ideal of wealth re-distribution under communism. How has Obama and the democrats differed from that principle?

Even Obama before the election told Joe the plumber that he wanted to spread the wealth around. And that is exactly what he and the democrats have done with the health care bill by forcing it through against the will of the American people.

If that's not the case, then what do you call it? Certainly not free-market solutions or the capitalist system that has defined us and prospered us for over the last 200 years.

...Its the "Change you can believe in."
