Maybe I'm late to the party but I'm just noticing the makeover to the music genres here at the forum. Seems Stephen and Ariel have revamped the areas in an attempt to somewhat delete 'categorization' of this universal language. Well done gentlemen. Hopefully it will stimulate more sharing of our diverse musical tastes!

Huh? Music genres? Revamped what 'areas'? I can't see anything like that here. Please let us know where we should be looking. THanks

Thanks, rgibran. This was Ariel's initiative. Looks good, I think.

We hope so, too.

OK. I must be really dumb. Looking at the 'Stereophile Forums' Home page I see nothing titled 'Audio Software' .

Keep looking.

It occupies the same space on the webpage that music does in the magazine.

Either I'm unbelievably stupid, I'm looking in the wrong place or someone's playing a joke on me. I don't see any category on the forum titled 'Headphones and Accessories'. Are we talking about the same place?

Do you have the forum list expanded - as in click on the + sign next to the major headings????

C'mon DM! I just started a new thread in the Jazz/Blues section. Attention Steven and Ariel, I'm not a "jazz bo". I suspect neither is anyone else.

As I see the forum there is no + sign next to the major headings. A browser problem maybe?

Ah HA! Just found the expand button at top right of screen. That is the most insane, obscure and awkward forum software I've ever encountered. Why can't we simply have a music section as a stand alone heading? Madness ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Exactly. Even though my Rode NT-1A mics have arrived and do I ever like them, this window into the forum members music library has been a great ride that is now about to get even better.

I am looking to finding out what new music (to me) you all are enjoying.

I think the names changes are quite awful. Classical music and jazz are widely recognized names and provide useful description. The "Blue Room" and "Great Beyond" names seem invented by people who don't listen to or like such music. The accompanying text sounds like marketing treacle.

classical music and jazz , used as forum titles...well, they are nearly as boring as the music that they represent.

Then you should not have anything to say in the matter.

Do you have anything positive to say about any subject?

I didn't say a word about your taste in music. Apparently you don't understand what snob means.

The more you write, the dumber you look.

So you run out of insults and then you say lighten up.

also, for some clarification. this statement:

is non-factual.
