Now, whenever someone walks along the sidewalk, his record skips.
His turntable can now tell him how many vehicles and how far away....
Looks like Santa Claus couldn't get the turntable down the chimney so he built a listening room around it.
If my wife ever tells me again that I worry about the little things too much...I'm showing her this photo.
Gayle Sanders, founder of Martin Logan has a similar arrangement in his basement. A granite (I believe) pillar comes through the floor and is not connected to the rest of the house in any way.
IIRC, John Marks describes a similar speaker mounting arrangement in his piece about Kind of Blue.
Also, doesn't one of the famous 'mix masters' like Bob Ludwig or similar have a studio with speakers mounted through the floor? Did Kal do a piece on this once?
My brain isn't precise enough to recall and the search feature here did not please me.

You should see the crossovers on his DIY speakers. Together they cost like a small family car.
I am a gnat in the heavy-weight world of high-end audio. This is proof. My shame has no end. I'm going to go stand in the corner for 15 minutes...maybe longer. I'm grounded for two weeks as well.
LOL!
Well, with all the money saved by not getting into room treatments, it freed him up for more gear.

This guy gets an "A" for originality.
Not too sure about the amps sitting on wall mounts though
Mark
He's a 99% DIY guy, as you have noticed, and his "name" is Budda by the way. He's a crazy Norwegian
where did that pic come from? id like to ask him about his amps..
He is on the Norwegian hifi forum "HiFiSentralen" http://www.hifisentralen.no/forum/index.php/topic,9965.0.html and his nick is Budda. He built those amps himself using Audio Note (as far as I've understood) tech schema's, but used the best parts he could find anywhere. The amps are sick, dude, and very pricey too.
His email address: solas@broadpark.no
P.S. Please share with us, ok?
