Those are pretty good predictions. I tend to agree.
I hope Alabama can repeat. We'll see. Im not to big a fan either, give me the 4th quarter and thats good enough for me to watch. I can't sit for that long in front of a television.
Yuo can definitely feel fall in the air around Sept. 1 in this neck of the woods. The heat was almost unbearable this year.
For people with a really really favorite team, I am also happy to help root for said team.
Florida didn't look so awesome vs. Miami of Ohio today.
Alabama vs. Ohio State in the final?
Ohio State is great at laying down in those games, too.
Ohio State in champioship games is almost as bad as the Buffalo Bills.
GA and GA Tech played well today. GA may have found a QB. Maybe Mich won't be a total embarassment. That used to be a great program. Notre Dame also looked good today under their new coach. Illinois not so much.
Fl didn't have much offense in the 1st half, and luckily didn't need it. It also looked like USC got a little scare at Hawaii?
I hate what Boise State does to my TV. Did they get that turf at a discount?
Yikes!
Oh for!
I wonder if I may have my prediction circuit hooked up out of phase.
I'll try it as is for the new week or two, but it may be that I am actually predicting perfectly, I just have my output 180 degrees out of absolute phase.
I'll keep you posted.
Let's see how this week goes:
Saints over Vikes by more than 14, favre doesn't finish the game.
Redskins over Cowboys.
Next
And that's why I only "gamble" at poker.
Yeah, I'm rooting for the 'Skins over the 'Boys, but afraid it won't happen. Doggone it. Skins fans just hoping for .500 this year.
OK, here we go:
For January.
NFC WEST: San Fran
NFC North: Green Bay
NFC South: New Orleans
NFC East: NY Giants
NFC Wild Cards: Atlanta and Minnesota
(Cowboys have too many O-line injuries and Panthers fall a game short.)
AFC West: Chargers, but I hate this pick. Put them down as the best of a mdeiocre lot. Oakland and Denvder and KC will all improve, so after the lockout non-season of 2011, watch out.
AFC North: Ravens
AFC South: Indy
AFC East: New England
Wild Cards: Tennessee and New York Jets
Georgia looked like a .500 SEC team and I felt bad for Notre Dame yesterday. So much for Georgia pulling a new "D" coach from the NFL. All of his stints have been of the 2 year or less variety, which tell you something.
I guess Michigan needed a win as bad as Notre Dame did. Young Montana is not anything like his Dad. GA did get that one right.
Alabama may repeat.
Not sure which of these would be considered upsets:
Gaints over Colts
Titans over Steelers
Patriots over Jets
Miami over Minnesota
Buddha, it looks like you'll get 2 out of 4 here.
The Colts will hand the Giants their asses and Minnesota will defeat Miami.
Wow, Redskins did beat the Cowboys. Happy - but not convinced. The Cowboys nullified their own winning touchdown w/ an unnecessary hold.
But our family favorite James Madison Univ beat Va Tech! Woo-hoo!
Nevada over Boise State later in the year.
(I grew up near Reno, so this is a "homer" call.)
I say Carlsberg over Buds every time
Keld, given your geographic location, when you say "Buds" it naturally begs the question ... Are you referring to the beer?
OK, now I predict that Brett Favre should have gone to training camp.
Will he finish the year?
Will the upcoming trade for some receiving help work out?
___________
Next up....Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett will not finish the season with the Cowpokes.
____
At some point in the next week or two, Terry Bradshaw may be brought back to QB the Steelers. I hope Dixon will be OK.
Well, Buddha it looks like our careers at predicting the future has taken an ugly turn. Titans lost, Miami won. Now if the Colts lose I will be dyspeptic for a week.
I'm still gonna three for four!
I was sorely tempted to call the Bears....but, hey....they are the Bears!
Well, you know the drill...
"Past performance is no guarantee of future performance" luckily for me.
First: Nevada is better than Arizona. Arizona beat Cal 10-9. Nevada demolished Cal. Look for undefeated Nevada to beat undefeated Boise State and put Nevada into the BCS, baby!
Tomorrow...
Miami will beat whoever it is they are playing.
Dallas will go to 0-3.
KC will use speed to destroy SF.
Arizona will suffer the "Curse of Leinart" and fall to 1-2.
Upset of the day, ATL over NO, oh no!
Hope you all have a great Sunday.
For today, every school I have ever been associated with won. Unprecedented!
Nevada beat BYU.
Stanford beat Notre Dame.
UCLA beat Texas....handily.
Colorado State won.
UNLV won a frickin' game.
USC won.
Oh, wait, Cal lost. Crud. What a wasted year of P-Chem that was.
I think I can honestly say that all those schools have never before won on the same weekend.
Time for some research.
Buddha:
Looks like a 3 out of 5 day for you
Dallas will beat Houston (or we'll have to spend the entire week listening to Jerry Jones affirm Wade Phillips employment)
SF will defeat KC
Other than that Buddha, you're spot on. Oh, and the Colts will defeat the Broncos ... not that you brought it up or anything, I'm just sayin'
Yikes, that GHB abusing Oakland kicker let me down!
Cowboys....I'm a fan....so I figured if they lost, it would allow me to relax for the rest of the season. Oh, well.
An aside:
Oregon State has a schedule that includes three of the top 5 or 6 ranked teams - Boise, Oregon, TCU.
Also #9 Stanford, #14 Arizona, and #18 USC.
I think Oregon State should be in the top 25.
By the way....Laker's over Celtics, again...in June 2011's NBA finals.
Damn Buddha, did you go nuclear with that crystal ball ... that's nine months out.
Does your crystal ball have the world ending on 12/21/12 too? Just thought I'd ask
Wonder what kind of wine goes well with the world ending?
Minnesota by 21 over Dallas.
Favre out at some point with an injury, his back-up wins the game.
Trying to stick only to upsets.
I'm with you on this one Buddha
Stick a fork in those Cowboys.
They seem to have forgotten one of Coach Landry's most important maxims about how to behave after scoring a touchdown....act like you've been there before.
No season in 2011, so Cowboys are now 'mathematically' eliminated until 2012!
Can't fire Wade, he's also the defensive coordinator.
All the good head coaches know not to come work for Jerry.
The only offensive adjustment Jason Garrett can figue out is shacking his pecker after he pees.
New Dat: Stand up and get what
Who Dat: it is Stand up and get Crunk
Who Dat 2: who in the fuck is that?
Who Dat: Another fucking New Dat
Who Dat2: Where were all of them 8 weeks ago?
Who Dat: Leaching off the corndogs at LSU. Don't worry they won't be here long.
Who Dat 2: Good I hate the fair weather fans, they are fucking useless and they are raising the ticket prices.
I'm a pissed off lifetime Cowboys fan who was going to take Jerry a magnum of Caymus SS to break the curse. Now, I'm gonna skip it.
Damn Cowboys.
Drew Pearson never celebrated like it was his first touchdown, even after his first touchdown.
You ain't pissed?
Now is when you make drastic changes and shake a few people up. Garrett just killed any chance he may have had to become a head coach. I have liked to Cowboys for a long time, but it time to cut your losses now and not wait until the years end.
I would like that....but who?
Norv Turner?
