Thanks. And the car needs a wash also !!

Quote:
"When you guys paint your house, do you take your research into consideration?? this is not meant to be snarky.. A serious question"

Therefore a serious answer !!

Whilst yes, we do take our research into consideration when carrying out general house etc improvements - it is more important to us to find universal improving techniques, which can be applied afterwards !!

Meaning. Some technique we may find works well when applied to such as general painting jobs etc, UNIVERSALLY thousands and thousands of people will ALREADY have had their house improvements completed or they have moved into property where everything has already been done or applied. So, it is far more important for us to find techniques which will work AFTER things have been completed and that is what we concentrate on.

Exactly the same applies to such as audio equipment. People will usually already have acquired their audio equipment, so us discovering techniques to 'treat' all the components inside our OWN numerous items of audio equipment can be quite useless for people who are not able or willing to go inside THEIR equipment !!!!!

So, our techniques and devices are designed for people, anywhere in the world, with whatever equipment, in whatever type of room to be able to 'treat' that EXISTING environment and their existing equipment.

Our whole house and environment is our 'test bench', inside and outside, upstairs and downstairs !!!!
In fact, when our children were younger and in our other family home, when the children came home from school and they knew Peter was carrying out listening experiments, they KNEW to tell him if they were going to 'do any washing', 'do any cooking', 'switch on the TV', 'switch on the heating', 'switch on the immersion heater during the summer', etc. Etc. They KNEW not to make any changes, in the environment, without telling him first !!

So, YES, everything is taken into consideration !!

May Belt,

Quote:
"...universal improving techniques..."

Here we go again with a knee jerk reaction from you - taking something out of the context in which it was meant !!!!!

It was meant as 'techniques which are not specific ONLY to certain things or ONLY to certain areas' !!

Some examples.
1) If we have (say) a Panasonic TV and discover a liquid to apply to the glass screen of that TV which gives an improvement in the sound, that technique is not ONLY specifically for the glass screens of PANASONIC TVs !!!! A glass screen of a TV is a glass screen of a TV is a glass screen of a TV - i.e not specific solely to Panasonic TVs !!!! The technique would be applicable to glass screens anywhere - therefore my use of the word "universal" !!!!

Now, how any one particular person would respond to such a technique, would HEAR any improvement in the sound, is with that particular person. I do not claim that our techniques WILL be equally and universally HEARD by ever single person !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) If we discover a technique to apply to a steel central heating radiator which gives an improvement in the sound, then that technique is not specific to ONLY that one steel central heating radiator. Steel central heating radiators are steel central heating radiators are steel central heating radiators !!!

Again, Buddha, I repeat my sentence (which you are fully aware of) "How any one particular person would respond to such a technique, would HEAR any improvement in the sound, is with that particular person. I do not claim that our techniques WILL be equally and universally effective HEARD by ever single person" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, let me repeat my other sentence again, Buddha !!
>>> "Whilst yes, we do take our research into consideration when carrying out general house etc improvements - it is more important to us to find universal improving techniques, which can be applied afterwards !!" <<<

If we DID have an additive which we can add to tins of paint etc, that technique would not ONLY apply to (say) the brand name "Dulux" paint, it would apply to other brands of paint. But, that would still be too narrow an outlook - when most houses have already been painted !!! Much better to try to use the same idea (technique) to universally apply to paint already previously applied !!!!!!!!!!!!! That word "universal" again, Buddha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although you, Buddha, appear to have problems with what I say, and how I say things, I am sure that Teddy Ray (who I was actually replying to) understood quite well what I was referring to !!!! !!!

May Belt,

Hmmmm, so how does one arrive at a "universal" conclusion?

"Universally effective," but not "HEARD" by every single person.

My apologies - I had left in the word "effective" before the word HEARD !!

My sentence should say :-
"I do not claim that our techniques WILL be equally and universally HEARD by ever single person !!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - which, in fact, it DID say that earlier in my reply !!

No way, man.

If you think getting someone like May to alter a claim of "universal effectiveness" is splitting hairs, you are a dupe.

I say that in all good cheer.

As the famous audiophile, John Philpot Curran (in his 1790 Speech Upon the Rights of Hi Fi Entusiats) said:
"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their hobby become prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given sonic liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt."

In other words, "Eternal vigilance is the price of sonic liberty."

I'm an audio patriot.

That's your sales gene vibrating, May.

If you can't figure out the difference between your two versions of the sentence, I'll put you down as unable to turn off the bullshit salesmanship.

For Keld, I was pointing out how we need to be alert to your type of crap. If David_L were to claim "tweaks are universally crap," would you notice the inappropriate use of "universal" in that sentence?

"Univerally effective" is quite a claim...and then to claim I am parsing because I point it out....really, May. Have you no shame?

I merely quoted your ludicrous statement, "Universal improving techniques."

You then started with the opining "here we go again" and "knee jerk reaction" stuff.

I would posit that your likely intentional "mis-statement" was the original 'jerking knee' in the 'here we go again' cycle.

You got caught bullshitting, so I quoted it and you fixed it, with faux outrage after being found out, yet again.

You may continue to inflate the issue all you like...

While we are here, there was some intersting stuff that showed up about the poisons in your printed receipt tweaks! So, keep in mind, I do give your style of balderdash some credibility regarding your claims that these things affect people.

Belt Tweak with actual effects on the listener.

Cheers.

geoffie smug and closed minded is your realm: ,"univerally effective," etc...are your bailiwick.

The rest of us are try-and-see, May is an auto-pedant who insists on "universal" rules for her tripe.

The sales gene can be very powerful, young padowan, resist the dark side you must.

I give you more credit than May, she is a troll who lives exclusively under the bridge of Sheldrake-worship based tweaks. No music, no gear, no talk of anything but her own shop - either a monomaniacal focus on making mo' money, or completely nacrissistic like that faux "reviewer" who darkens our doorway every once in a while.

You can sometimes talk audio...that's a start; but if you'd only get a Hi Fi, I sense you could really break on through.

Come to CES and we'll let you audition the Supersymmetric Supersting Tweak (SST) and hear the astounding effect of the laser light tweak, then you'll be able to see what it's really all about.

Time for you to actually enter this great hobby!

So, Geoff, what do you have/use for stereo equipment? What kind of dedicated listening space do you have? How many clocks, how many pebbles, how many chips, where, when, why, etc?

You could surely tell us that. I mean John Atkinson has even reported on one of my listening rooms, and we all know what you think of me, so surely you must have something extraordinarly better.
