Check on www.audiogon.com in the Rega, Triangle, B&W, Epos, Dynaudio, PSB, NHT etc in the "brand" searches. There are others as well, so search you heart out.

How do you feel about Polk audio speakers? I see a lot of them come up in my price range. I also see some Bose bass/reflecting and m-audio studiophile. Are these any good?

Anyone want to recommend Bose, raise your hand. I don't see any.

One can still get the PSB Image B15 in closeout at Saturday Audio Exchange for $230 delivered. PSB Alpha B1 and PSB Image B15 in B-stock is $219 and $229, respectively, from DMC Electronics. The Infinity Primus P162 is a pretty good value at $200/pair.

Thank guys, I went with the Definitive Pro Studio 450's. I was able to get a great deal on them, $250/pair, and was able to listen to them before buying, which was important to me. They sound alright, but they're nothing special, my biggest problem with them is the muddy and weak bass. I'm using them as a stereo pair with a Sony STR-DE425, hooked up to a Panasonic DVD-s47. Any idea why they sound so bad? When I listened to them in the store they sounded excellent.

Some other information that may be helpful is that I have my dvd player connected to my receiver with RCA cables, and I have my receivers bass and treble settings flat.

It could be your room. Think about treatments.

Could you describe your room and the speaker positions.
