No, not alcohol!

That can make things kind of dull and oxidized looking.

That being said, I will defer to others for advice about what to use. I just thought I had better jump in the save you from using the alcohol.

The other good news is that unit is good at keeping dust out of the innards.

With it having been in storage that long, it may be worthwhile taking it in to your local tech and having it checked out to make sure all is well.

A little bit of window cleaner or the like will take the rest of the grime off.

The best thing I have used on a metal chassis (billet aluminum, etc.) is lemon oil. Michael Grace supplies a cute little bottle of lemon oil with his products. The stuff is wonderful on metal.
