This whole slice of the cosmic pie is ever changing and in constant dynamic flux, with occassional intercessions from a myriad of both solar and extra solar interlopers/effects i.e.,comets, asteroids, planetary alignments/orbital positions, solar activity, galactic orbital position, alien visitations etc... I've left alot of the detail off concerning what we do know and of course that for which we do not yet understand. Bottom line is that even if all of mankind woke up tommorrow and decided to join forces to combat AGW, the results would be exceedingly small...a few % reduction in green house gases at best by anyones numbers. Well, anyone who does reall science and doesn't make shit up to get grants or awards and publish papers. Reality is even bleaker for the tree huggers...the new industrial age is owned by countries like china, India and malaysia etc..., and I got news for you sunshine, they aren't gonna play fair! Summing up then, reasonable restrictions on emmissions and appropriate environmental stabilization guidelines should be enforced, and for the most part, are being implemented. Killing jobs, restricting economic growth and imposing overly burdonsome guidelines for the general population, in addition to scaring the shit out of our kids, is insane. Earth's environment will change and it will eventually be inhospitable for some or even most of the world's population. Carbon credits will make Al Gore rich, fat and happy, but it won't make him smart or save our ass from the next heat up or cool down cycle.
