I don't spend my time looking at my navel like you
You brought up mass market products
I buy high end -vintage
because there no sense bying new today (my opinion)
Capiche?
Analogy?
Before WWII we were making Bugattis in France
After WWII we made Citroen 2CV
We are in the same situation
If you think a 2CV is bad, try a Renault Dauphine.
The Dauphine was unbelievable. My school mate drove us to class my freshman year in one. Well, it didn't last the year. But it always gave us an excuse for being late.
Go figure but the 2CV was very popular in Germany
The first half way decent car that they build was the Peugeot 403.
My grand-father had one
I would not be seen in a Dauphine
A woman's car
My father drove american cars
In college, in 1960, I bought a new Renault Dauphine. I squeezed 95 thousand miles from it. I also learned to be a mechanic. Just goes to show you what you can do with pure fanaticism.
I've deleted several offensive posts here, but I'm keeping the thread open for now. We can have fun and make jokes, but let's try to keep the thread productive.
Post removed. Very interesting.
Jim,
The deleted posts are located over in "the Dead Zone". I recall Stephen explaining the way the forum software works all posts after the offending unfortunatlely get caught up in the delete as well.
The deleted posts have 21 views so far..

There's a future for you in the Obama administration as a disinformation specialist...they don't let the truth get in the way of a good story either
