What a great find. We should all be so fortunate. As you have proven, if we frequent retail or used record stores, often that is what happens.
Our local Mall FYE now as bins of used lps are reasonable prices of $4-$10 each. Who would have thought that was possible 5 years ago. They even sell the cheap Sony 250 turntable, stacked at the end of the lp rack. No one wuld recommend one, but it is a baby step.
And you can get a nice Project turntable and Martin-Logan speakers at my local Best Buy. Congrats on the sacds, I have a few of the Dylan discs and really enjoy them. But nothing can take that high wirey sound out of the Capitol tapes!

Buddha...just watched "DIG!!" (about BJM and Dandy Warhols) ..great flick.
Anton Newcombe is a maniac.
BJM is touring - got tickets for when they come here in June - way looking forward to it! Tho crossing fingers that they don't fall apart (again) before they get here.
Street Legal is the big win - the album's sound is vastly better on the SACD version.
Also, be on the lookout for 'Bringing It all Back Home' and JWH, both also available in SACD. Also LaT, if it wasn't on your list.

Amazing coincidence that you posted this!
Last week I was in Las Vegas and went to the store....presto! They still had Blood on the Tracks!
I'm not sure how to cost out a trip to find a 3.99 SACD but it is now in my hands!
I will look for those others on SACD, thank you for the endorsement!
I must have hit some magic age where suddenly my love of Dylan was amplified.
Don't even play around, man. 'Infidels' is such an important album. Utterly timely even now, and has been for years. The lyrics are all there, man. Jokerman is stunning but Sundown on the Union... are you kidding me...? Fucking Dylan is clairvoyant, man! (Oh wait... I'm so high...) Nostradamus, even. License to Kill? Shivers... such truth and beauty... 'Neighborhood Bully'- still utterly relevant. Absolutely astonshing in his emotional delivery. It exudes truth. The truth then, not now in the that Little Piece of Holy Land. He sits as the scribe, watching the world twisted in the desert. And it rocks too man. Does it ever!
And you could not ask for a better whine on 'Sweetheart'... what a crooner.
And look who's playing with him on that puppy. So many awesome players...
I could roll on about how 'Jokerman' is really the last protest song I think he wrote, in my opinion.
Being of multiple religions, I find 'Slow Train Coming' and 'Infidels' utterly affecting and powerful.
But I really want that Gorillaz album soooo bad too! Come to think of it, I still need 'D sides', too.... crap.
So I got this new Sony Ericson phone that's also a Walkman. Figured I try it out and put "Tell Tale Signs" on there. Now, 'Dreaming of You' swirling around my head and "Drivin' Me Insane"!
How'd that end up on the cutting room floor?
As far as I'm concerned, Tell Tale Signs is the greatest Dylan album - better than the mid-60s trio, better than BOTT.
Some folks will argue that TTS doesn't count because it wasn't an 'intentional' album. I don't think there's any difference between that and the Basement Tapes.
Remarkable work.

I think there are several of us here that feel the same way about Tell Tale Signs!
It also made me appreciate "Oh Mercy" more.
After spending more and more time listening to Volume 5 of the Bootleg series, I have grown more and more fond of it with each play.
The sonics are amazingly good! (Pardon me if that violates the October 2010 "As We See It" paradigm.)
Agreed. Considering there were 4 different live venues those guys in the truck did some great work, to magnetic tape! Thanks for prompting me to revisit this work.
