Well flute is my first instrument and let's just say if I could play it like Vytautas Sriubikis my life would have probably taken a different course! Superb playing technically and a beautiful sense of the ebb and flow of Bach completely devoid of annoying 'vituosity'. This is exactly how I like my Bach, it would be churlish to award anything less than five strutses out of five.

As for Minvydas Razaitis, 'child prodigy', well, what can I say?

He looks about, what, ten(?), and from playing with my daughter (six) I know how difficult it is for small hands to play some of the chords while maintaining any sense of the rhythm which is so important in the dance movements. Also, while this Passepied is a reasonably easy piece to play it is (like all Bach) difficult to play well so my expectations were appropriately calibrated. However a few seconds in I just started laughing out loud..

I have now listened to the flute solo and to the two chamber pieces. The performances are quite nice and the sound lovely. Thanks for the find.

I am still hooping to capture at home the sound of a good flautist.

A goof flautist produces a sound "bubble", or "field" that surrounds the player. This bubble expands and contracts as they play. When you are close to the player you sense this bubble.

I would be ecstatic if any system reproduced this.

I know what you mean, there is a kind of 'luminesence' to the sound which can be quite mesmerizing. I think Vytautas produces a lovely tone from that M

Thank you very mucho, my good man

Just downloaded the files and burned them to a DVD as 24/96 audio. (Using Cirlinca's DVD Audio Solo 2.5) They sound wonderful!

Taking high resolution recording to the topmost level, LessLoss is charting new waters in sound recording fidelity. These recordings, all available for download, are based on the old-school method of finding the best microphone position and then recording the real, live event, without the use of any subsequent processing to influence the original sound signal. Power supply is exclusively LessLoss Firewall Power Filter and LessLoss Dynamic Filtering Power Cables. Enjoy these true high fidelity sounds!

Clicky here.

Downloaded the Bach Flute Partita and the 2 Flute Sonatas. Played them with iTunes feeding the dCS U-Clock/Puccini.

Very nice. The continuo bassoon is a little too loud in the sonatas and the Partita has some traffic noise - always a problem with solo flute recordings - but the sound is enveloping. I also would have liked a little more adventurous ornamentation in the repeats, but that's down to personal taste. Again, very nice. Thank you for the link, Struts, and thank you, LessLoss, for the music.

These 2 free files from Sound Liaison sounds wonderful. I have both downloads complete with all tracks and they are beautifully well played and recorded. Higly recommended.

one is 24/96 and the other 24/88.2

It is Studio Master Wav files.

http://www.soundliaison.com/

And they are pretty confident about their product, but I do agree that they seem to know what they are doing.

These two tracks shows what True High-Resolution Studio Masters are all about.

The tracks are one to one copies of what we, the engineers and the musicians, heard in the studio after the final mix was done.

Feel free to download the tracks so you can experience on your own system what a True Studio Master Download sounds like.

We are confident that you will agree that these recordings are among the best and most natural sounding on the market.

''Sound Liaison are producing recordings available only in 24-bit/96kHz downloads that mirror the master recording. And man, are they ever sweet. I've seldom heard recordings that were so successful in both performance and sound aspects.''
Rad Bennett, SoundStage.
