I just heard the PSB Image T6 last night and was very impressed. They exhibit very good characteristics over all frequencies for music and are efficient enough to get all you need from your Cayin amp. With an on-axis bass response of -3dB at 32Hz and -10dB cutoff of 28Hz they have plenty of bass.

I don't know if Audio Advisor ships to Columbia but they have the PSB Image T6 for $1199 a pair.
Hi Jackfish, thx for your comments. I had read the reviews for the Imagine T, which is in the same league as the B&W C7 and the Paradigm Studio 60. I have read the reviews for the Image T series, and the seem a better bang for the buck, this being similar to the B&W 600s, the Paradigm Monitors or the Polks RTI A7.
There is a PSB dealer for Colombia, I have just written an email requesting information and pricing for the Imagine T and the Image T6.
Regards, JFB
REG from The Absolute Sound loves these.
Vade Forrester at Soundstage loves these.
Looking online....800 bucks a pair, delivered.
Hehe
With the Cayin that probably works, big time!
Far from flat frequency response when I heard them. If one has EQ you might get them to tame down a bit.
Don't think the CVs will pass this muster.
A set of Dynaudio's would probably do the trick, but I believe they're over the budget limit. http://www.dynaudio.com/eng/systems/lines/lines/index.php
Hi Budahha, thx for the info. I have read the reviews and was amazed by this big guys and the excellent price. Two things, they are so heavy that shipping them here would cost more than the speakers, and second they are really, really ugly, there is no way my wife would allow me putting two of this in the living room!
Hi, if you are looking for good bass extension then I would look at B&W. However you may not be overwhelmed with the design
Hi Esoteric09, actually I like very much B&W design, it has the beauty of simplicity, it is not overdone or excessively styled as for example the Paradigms. The PSBs Imagine and the Polks RTI A have also very nice design. My first choice are the B&W 683, I don't like the vinyl finish, but I can live with it, something had to be sacrificed to get to the targeted price, as far as I know the CMs and the 600s are almost identical in there technical aspects, but you have to pay premium to get the nice danish finish. Thx for the comment.
Can someone comment on Polk RTI A7 and A9 speakers?
Sunfire CRM-2
And again.
And again...this one is from one of the Sterophile magazines.
And again.
And again!
This should please the wife for visuals - but you will need a subwoofer....which can be well hidden...and self-amplified!
They will play plenty loud, and at 1600 per pair, retail, should not be bank busters! Check out the reviews!
Less than flat frequency response here as well. But you might like their forward presentation in the low to mid treble range. Listen to them if you can. Not in the same class as the PSB Image T6 according to my ears.
Hi Jackfish, I've had the opportunity of hearing the Polks and the Paradigms. I can say I don't feel (or hear) the Polks as flat and neutral as I would like, they are certainly colored in a way I find to be ok, The Paradigms do a better job in neutrality, though I feel the bass to be just ok, nothing really great. But the auditions I've had with both of them have been using conventional solid state amps, not tube amps.
I haven't been able to hear the PSBs, I can order them, but the are not really available for audition, I would have to risk on others opinions.
You previously mentioned there was a PSB dealer there. Is some of the PSB line available for audition? PSB has a kinda house sound with similarities between Imagine and Image lines. If not, I wouldn't take a chance on ordering without an audition.
The Polk line offers the styling, furniture grade real wood fit and finish along with sound "coloration" (if you must) you desire. There are many fans of Polk speakers to be found. Would seem a no brainer.
Hi Rgibran, I have to admit I like the Polks, I prefer the politeness of the B&W, but for the price the Polks might be a better value. I can't audition the PSBs, that's the problem here. But once again that's why I would like to see comments and reviews, I bought the Cayin A-50T and the Rega P3-24 without auditioning them, but I have a very clear idea of what to expect from them from the reviews and the forums comments. I have a very clear idea of what to expect form B&W (though I will probably audition them next week), but even though I read excellent reviews of the PSBs, I still don't get a clear picture of their sound.
One of the great current tragedies in Hi Fi is what seems to be that 90+ percent of purchases are done 'sound unheard.'
The transition away from brick and mortar stores has reduced us to this sort of conversation!
Not meant as a pejorative aimed at any person here, just a comment on the strange evolution Hi Fi has undertaken - a hobby based on listening....a love of listening...and discerning listening at that...turned into something where so many purchases are now made without actually having listened.
It's kind of depressing.
Hi Buddha, some years ago, while in college, I used to be very interested in sound reinforcement. Needless to say I was a huge fan of Bob Carver and his designs. I have to admit the Sunfire seem very interesting, and I envision them as part of a home video system, not I have my doubts of their performance as just music speakers. The CRM2 are certainly not the kind of product I would buy without auditioning, as I don
Hi Buddha, yes it
This would be incredibly frustrating.
While the audio market in the U.S. could be better, we are very spoiled compared to the rest of the world in this, and so many other, ways.
Wow Bodhisatva, I would've never guessed you were from 1910
Dude, I have to admit I
I will not put more gas into the fire. I will just say I live a different reality than those in the "developed world". My love towards music is a authentic as anybody's else where, so I look into HiFi for the means of realistic reproduction and enjoyment. Someone has to read the reviews and the magazines, if Stereophile didn't sell, there would be no blog to post this.
Indeed.
And you have to work harder to listen.
Many of us forget how spoiled we are in the States and in Europe.
