My preferred chair is also almost at the height of my ears, and I have discovered, that if I position the chair at any angle in correspondance to the speaker "plane", one of the speakers is louder than the other. See drawing below.

When I sit facing away from my stereo it sounds like the music is coming from behind me...weird

Interestingly, while their store in Washington state closed, they have one in WV. Odd, but not peculiar.
