-God Help The Girl, a side project from Belle & Sebastian front man Stuart Murdoch is very enjoyable.

-Them Crooked Vultures is interesting hard rock. The album is a collaboration between Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl of Nirvana and Foo Fighters fame, and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.

-The Beatles mono boxed set probably isn't entirely an answer in the spirit of your question but it's given a couple of generations a chance to hear The Beatles as they intended, in mono. Plus the upgrade in sound quality from the remastering was very welcome too.
