I installed a Sony DVD burner in my Dell Laptop and then installed Audio DVD creator per TaterBones recommendations from the Hoffman audio forum site, and wha la...2496 music on +R media just like he promised. Saved them as WAV 2496 pcm. The software is $40. The Sony burner cost me $60.

I am using an Echo Indigo 2496 IO card for recording and the sound is very good and played first time in my Sony 755 DVD/SACD player. The 2 tracks I burned played great. Not a single hitch.

Now I have to wonder why this is not the defacto hi-rez standard rather than all the dedicated player formats that are out their. I have some recording projects coming up in early December for my local high schools bands in the area that will be recorded 2496 and then I will compare them to the redbook versions and see if I can really tell a difference.

from what I understand, the Audio DVD creator program just creates DVD-V files and uses the 24 bit files as the audio portion..

I am partial to these myself..

Of course some DAWs have it built in... Samplitude has a fantastic DVD_A authoring tool.

NC,

I am more than pleased at this point. This may be the most fun I will have for under $100 for sure. I know that some new mics will probably be in my future, and no they will not be AKG 414s I'm sorry to say. I am looking at the Roda NT-1As with a very low noise floor, or the newer AKG Perception 420's.

I must keep in mind that most of my projects are high schol and middle school bands, gratis. Still great fun for me. Now, I'll just be taking "more sound" home with me.

I would definitely go for the omni capsule with the Rode NT-5 or 55... Tony Faulkner has said amazing things about them. They are very good and VERY omni.

omnis= best bass response, most natural presentation..

Ms. Aronowski is gorgeous and sings like an angel. I thought the sound samples were very good running through my older Triangle Cometes from the Esprit series. This is excellent work.

Are her disc available here in the US? I do not see any mention of a recording label.

Thanks for sharing. Jim

That one is still supposed to be released at some point, but has not yet.

that recording was captured with an AKG 426B in pure blumlein through a custom made tube microphone amplifier into a mytek stereo 192>> sound devices 722.
