While there's probably a tie-in with bad Sci-Fi, I was actually referring to mass predictions of the end of the world for the year 1524.
Of course, Buddha is subtle and I may very well have misinterpreted his reference.
It's always scary when a civilization that had it's own real fall hundreds of years ago forgets to finish it's future calenders!
My son can't count past twenty yet, and every month I get the heebee geebies when the calender flips to the 21st!
Yes, this end of days stuff is sub-gibberish.
The JW's had to keep changing dates as each end time came and went -1914, 1925 and 1975...people selling houses, etc.
Hell, pick a date and there's probably some lame brained cult or religion that has declared that the end of time.
Now we have three years of having the pleasure of watching the crystal worshipper types to get frothed up.
The secret bad news is that the true Rapture was six years ago and I tell you what, I heard that her family really misses that one Shinto lady who was taken up.
I'm going to see the film tomorrow. It will be fun watching shit blow up.
