On Oct. 26, 1994, Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin of Israel and Prime Minister Abdel Salam Majali of Jordan signed a peace treaty in a ceremony attended by President Clinton.

That's twice you've posted that.

You're not very original, if not totally worthless, without an entertainer telling you what to think.

Pathetic!

Check your decoder ring for low batteries. Maybe O has taken over the battery companies and has fixed it so no repubs have batteries that work.

Battery death panels! What's next?

When you have something worth reading, post it. Otherwise, just go listen to someone shouting, "Socialist", like they have any idea what the word means.

Yeah, Socialists like Goldwater, Fenwick, Whitman, Forbes...

You are living in an imaginary world built by the application of that good old saw from Goebbels, to wit: "Repetition is the linchpin of propaganda".

And you, sir, are living proof.

Yeah, yeah, you used that line before too. Scary f'ing stuff when the bunch of ya can't decide just who is "conservative enough"!

Change the friggin' channel, find another entertainer. Hannity is nuts, it's not "conservatism in exile" it's, "When do we get the next pass? It's getting crowded in here."

You idiots sound like Obama. Fucking cry-babies. What ever happened to Air America? You queers were butt fucking in the streets when they had an audience. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/28/world/asia/28intel.html?th&emc=th

So, our government is covertly supporting the drug trade that finances the forces who kill our soldiers?

Hard to believe until you think back to a name and an incident from the not so distant past and his ties to another President named Bush.

That name?

Eugene Hasenfus.

Quote:
Eugene H. Hasenfus (born January 22, 1941 in Florida) is a United States citizen who was an unemployed construction worker and former Marine from Marinette, Wisconsin who secured work as a cargo handler for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).[citation needed]

[edit] Iran-Contra Affair
Hasenfus was aboard the Fairchild C-123 cargo plane, N4410F[1], formerly USAF 54-679, (c/n 20128), shot down over Nicaragua on October 5, 1986, while delivering supplies to the Nicaraguan Contras. The two pilots died in the crash, however Hasenfus was able to parachute to safety, having disobeyed orders by wearing a parachute on the mission. He was captured by Nicaraguan government forces, tried, and sentenced to 25 years in prison. In December 1986, at the request of U.S. Senator Chris Dodd, he was pardoned and released by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega.

Hasenfus' capture and detention helped uncover and publicize the Iran-Contra Affair. A black book of phone numbers in the wreckage tied the plane to an operation run out of Ilopango airbase in El Salvador, supported by anti-Castro exile Felix Rodriguez. Press speculation focused on former general Jack Singlaub as the sponsor; this was encouraged by Oliver North to divert attention from the true head: Richard Secord. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Hasenfus

Quote:
According to the witnesses, the CIA claims it had nothing to do with Eugene Hasenfus, the cargo handler who survived the recent downing of a CIA transport plane and in doing so revealed the existence of the illegal arms deals. Supposedly, the only involvement by US officials was to offer public encouragement. The committee Democrats do not believe anything Abrams or the CIA officials say, but at least one committee member, Dick Cheney (R-WY) offers his support. According to the summary written by the administration staffer taking notes that day,

'Media Matters' like Fox, wears its bias on its sleeve..

As usual you've entirely missed the truth to be found here. It's clear you have little sense for truth.

The first clip is From The Daily Show and just as easily could have been linked to that site. I just happened to be on Media Matters and pulled the clip from there. Why not go to The Daily Show and watch the same clip from their link? It will be the same, Media Matters had no need to doctor anything that was said or represented. That repubs make such good and neverending targets for satire and outright comedy is something I mentioned last week. I suspect you ignored the link. Here it is, have a look; http://forum.stereophile.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=75856&an=0&page=1#Post75856

This thread is about things that are factual and represent the exact quotes of the people who made the comment(s). No opinions are expressed in "Fox & Friends re-enacts pro-life heckler who told Pelosi to 'burn in hell'" or in "Beck's ultimatum: 'You're either on the side of revolutionaries for Marxism... or the revolutionaries of 1776'" If you had listened to the cips you would have heard the words come out of the mouths and press releases of all those mentioned in all three clips. In this case the words happen to belong to Fox News employees. If you find their words biased and offensive, you should stop watching Fox News.

This thread is about presenting the actual words of those who are skewered and doing so to the best of my ability. I allow the words to stand for themself, nothing more and nothing less. If you take offense or find them biased, either you are allowing your own biases to control your thinking or you should take the issue up with the speakers or writers - who in this case would be Fox News employees.

I'm not the least bit interested in your Stoooo-Pid repub banter that claims some sources are illegitimate because the source isn't Party approved or doesn't come from a recognized Mouthpiece for The Party or even The Party Leader his-own-self. The words are what they are, again in this case, they are the words of Fox News and they are asinine and insulting. How can they reflect the bias of Media Matters when they are the actual words spoken? Media Matters reports, I post and you decide.

If someone wants to head to the Home page of any of the sites I link to, I am not telling them my opinion or what they should or should not believe. Why can't you do the same and stop telling everyone who are the Official Party Approved Stooges and Entertainers and who is not?

This thread is about presenting the truth of someone's words. It is not about telling The Party Line. I realize you have no use for the truth but that's what this thread is about and you'll simply have to live with that fact. If you find the words offensive, I suggest you take a long look at what you have been defending.

Such as this story;

http://mediamatters.org/blog/200910300022

http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200910300021

Lynne Cheney and The Mega Ditto lying about O's visit to Dover Air Base. Those are Cheney's and Limbaugh's own words. Why would I make this up when their lies are so easy to find on such a daily schedule?

If you don't care for Media Matters, that's really tough. I take what I believe is fair when it represents the actual words spoken or written and when I can I link to those words. If they are a lie, then you'll see a lie. If they are absurdities and hypocrisy, then you'll hear absurdities and hypocrisy. I generally don't comment on the lie or the slander, the words stand for themself. If you find them to be baised, then it is your own bias that is forming that conclusion.

If you're comfortatble with your Party's leaders' and mouthpieces' deceptive tactics, that's for you to consider when you are alone with your own conscience. You do remember where you put your conscience, don't you? You do know who to call to ask about morals, don't you? It's certainly not Fox News or The Party Leader who spout lies and fabrications incessantly.

And certainly not this TV evengelist; http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200910290037

Media Matters also presents Democrats when they have their "awkward" moments. If you ever strayed from The Official Party Doctrine, you would realize that. There just always seem to be more lies being told by the repubs than the Dems. Therefore, you, a repub lapdog, see Media Matters as baised when in fact it is your precerption that has been distorted by the constant barage of propaganda you have willingly absorbed over the last 30+ years.

More BS from you denouncing those who are not Official Party Mouthpieces is unneccesary. You are quite unimaginative when you don't have The Party Line to fall back on, or when you don't have entertainers telling you what to think. For you to continue to repeat the same Party Line BS is boring and exceedingly tedious. Please stop.

"Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues"

by Bob Dylan

Well, I was feelin' sad and feelin' blue,
I didn't know what in the world I was gonna do,
Them Communists they wus comin' around,
They wus in the air,
They wus on the ground.

They wouldn't gimme no peace. . .

So I run down most hurriedly
And joined up with the John Birch Society,
I got me a secret membership card
And started off a-walkin' down the road.
Yee-hoo, I'm a real John Bircher now!

Look out you Commies!

Now we all agree with Hitlers' views,
Although he killed six million Jews.
It don't matter too much that he was a Fascist,
At least you can't say he was a Communist!

That's to say like if you got a cold you take a shot of malaria.

Well, I wus lookin' everywhere for them gol-darned Reds.
I got up in the mornin' 'n' looked under my bed,
Looked in the sink, behind the door,
Looked in the glove compartment of my car.

Couldn't find 'em . . .

I wus lookin' high an' low for them Reds everywhere,
I wus lookin' in the sink an' underneath the chair.
I looked way up my chimney hole,
I even looked deep inside my toilet bowl.

They got away . . .

Well, I wus sittin' home alone an' started to sweat,
Figured they wus in my T.V. set.
Peeked behind the picture frame,
Got a shock from my feet, hittin' right up in the brain.
Them Reds caused it!

I know they did . . . them hard-core ones.

Well, I quit my job so I could work alone,
Then I changed my name to Sherlock Holmes.
Followed some clues from my detective bag
And discovered they wus red stripes on the American flag!

That ol' Betty Ross . . .

Well, I investigated all the books in the library,
Ninety percent of 'em gotta be burned away.
I investigated all the people that I knowed,
Ninety-eight percent of them gotta go.

The other two percent are fellow Birchers

. . . just like me.

Now Eisenhower, he's a Russian spy,
Lincoln, Jefferson and that Roosevelt guy.
To my knowledge there's just one man
That's really a true American: George Lincoln Rockwell.

I know for a fact he hates Commies cus he picketed the movie Exodus.

Well, I fin'ly started thinkin' straight
When I run outa things to investigate.
Couldn't imagine doin' anything else,
So now I'm sittin' home investigatin' myself!

Hope I don't find out anything . . .

hmm, great God!

You have never read Gatsby?

Have you never read "Howard the Duck"?!

He ran for President in 1976 after the Nixon/Ford debacle.

Quote:
Heroes Reborn

After giving a ride from the western desert and becoming involved in an anti-mutant bar brawl with Chamber and Skin, assisting the mutants with his knowledge of Quack-Fu, Howard and Beverly (apparently back together with Howard again working as a driver) spend Thanksgiving at Charles Xavier's Massachusetts Academy. Chamber, however, is celebrating Thanksgiving with Husk's family, and the young mutants Artie Maddicks, Leech, and Franklin Richards are intrigued by the pair, inviting Beverly and dragging Howard to a treehouse where they have hidden the visiting Rigellian Tana Nile. Working as a video store clerk in Cleveland, Beverly gets him to play a department store Santa Claus, which gets him dragged to the North Pole, where Santa Claus has sold out to HYDRA. Some time after Christmas, Howard returns alone to his friends' treehouse, and during a battle with a rampaging Black Tom Cassidy, the group escapes with the apparent help of the Man-Thing.[33] Howard goes through several dimensions, apparently through the power of Man-Thing, who can now talk but does not understand this ability, and lands on a version of Duckworld where his parents are essentially Ward and June Cleaver, has a sister named Princess, and is regarded as a hero because his activities on Earth-616 were recognized by Duckworld's version of Reed Richards. This origin traces the source of these dimensions to be projections from Franklin's mind, though through the course of the adventure, Howard has a romance with Tana Nile, culminating in a kiss, after which he apologizes and tells her of his attachment to Beverly.[34] When Franklin understands that he has shaped all these worlds, they find themselves back in Man-Thing's swamp. While Man-Thing became a self-appointed guardian to Franklin Richards, Howard went off on his own and was captured by the Cult of Entropy, who wrapped him in swaddling clothes.[35] Although we last saw him in the swamp, he states that he was thrown into baggage and transported on a plane. The cult wants him because he has part of the Nexus of All Realities, which shattered during Heroes Reborn, inside him, which he knows because it is making him nauseous. Man-Thing enters his gullet, and Howard vomits him back out with the fragment, but the former is left desiccated and practically dead.[36] He then encountered Namor, who thought he had slain the creature, but Howard explains that he would not be lugging his friend's body if that were the case. Howard sets Man-Thing down in the water, and he revives during the conversation with Namor. Once he sees that Man-Thing is alive and well, he bids Namor farewell and says he is returning to Cleveland.[37]

Back with Beverly, he undergoes further shape-shifting experiments from Doctor Bong. Beverly is hired by Verde's Globally Branded Content Corporation, which manufactures boy bands from protein vats based on the sexual arousal of a focus group of gay men. Attempting to destroy an escapee whom Beverly has taken in, Bong inadvertently knocks Howard into a vat, which changes him, unstably, into a mouse[38]--showering changes his form multiple times. Verde then goes to the press and claims that his building was attacked by Osama el-Barka ("Osama the Duck" in Arabic). Howard and Beverly are sent back on the road after the junkyard office where they are living is destroyed by a S.W.A.T. team.[39] Denied admittance to every possible shelter due to lack of funds, the pair and their dog find a sign for the Boarding House of Mystery, but are taken to the police station for questioning and strip searches by Suzy Pazuzu, with whom Beverly had attended high school. One of the officers on the case is the same beat cop who mistook Howard for a mutant many years before. Suzy is the inheritor of the doucheblade, which starts to take her over until in a skirmish, the bracelet is caught by Howard. The doucheblade causes its holder to grow enormous bare breasts and armor in a parody of Witchblade, and possessed by this, Howard kills the male lover of a businessman who works with Verde as he and Verde break into Suzy's house.[40]

Arriving at the Boarding House of Mystery, Howard and Beverly encounter Cain and Abel, the latter with a rock stuck in his head that allows him only moments of lucidity. There, they are granted their every wish, including Howard's return to his true form, and Beverly never being tight again, and meet parodies of John Constantine, Wesley Dodds, The Endless, and Gerber's own Nevada (called Utah), all characters from DC Comics' Vertigo imprint. The downside is that everyone staying in the place gets their every wish, so Che Guevara can have his revolution, but someone else can easily slaughter him.[41] One tenant, a writer named Mr. Gommorah (a parody of Spider Jerusalem), takes Beverly and Howard to be on the Iprah Show with the topic "Why Women Give It to Men Who Don't Get It," guest starring Dr. Phlip. Upon leaving the house, Howard is once again transformed into a mouse. Iprah has been merged with an experiment by the Angel Gabriel called Deuteronomy, intended to replace God, because God has been spending all his time in a bar in Hell since 1938. Deuteronomy is a creature half id and half superego, while Iprah is an all-ego promoter of self-indulgent pop psychology. Considering her dangerous, Gabriel sends Cherub Thrasher to resurrect Sigmund Freud, whose cigar blasts out half of Thrasher's brains (being immortal, this just makes him act drunk). Iprah destroys Freud, but Howard blasts her with the cigar, separating her from Deuteronomy. Puffing on the cigar, Howard disintegrates and arrives in Hell.[42]

Thrasher tells Howard that he is not dead, but in an Existential Suspension Loop or E.S.L., and takes him to the bar where God drinks. Yahweh, who prefers to be called "Yah," (saying being called "God" is like calling Howard "Duck" (a form to which Yah restores him for real)), leaves a resentful Jesus to take care of the Holy Ghost--Gabriel calls this "tripolar disorder"--in order to talk to Howard. Yah says he prefers to talk to non-believers, since he did not create religion (other than Zoroastrianism as a practical joke), and says that Bonanza is more accurate as historical fiction than any religious text. He created the multiverse as a work-for-hire, introducing sentient life in spite of his corporate employers' misgivings.

They were afraid of competition.

The only reason they don't "pull the plug" is because it's a popular tourist attraction. His employers insisted he create death, so Yah sneaked evolution in, so that science would allow for the extension of life, as well as the afterlife--near Earth asteroids are no accident and are sent by his colleagues. In the end, Yah tells Howard, "you have to find your own little bit of grace," for he is still too busy trying to learn his project management software to have a master plan. Howard asks if he can get out of the E.S.L., and Yah tells him he can go anywhere he chooses. Yah shows Howard a possible existence on his homeworld, and he decides life with Beverly is preferable

Those GOP 'Stalinists (interesting transference there) are going to win the race, as are the republicans in Virginia and NJ, and by a pretty impressive margin. The country is tired of the lefts constant lying, spending, grubbing for power, and ineptness.

The politicians of both parties are totally out of touch with the voters. Those voters know it and have for years but now, as a result of the Tea Party folk, they are understanding they CAN do something about it.

The dems and 'moderate' republicans will see some very dark days next year.

You also have rubber models in your office with all the reproductive organs of both sexes that you keep locked up in separate cabinets to avoid a scandal.

I reply to myself all through this thread since I'm not interested in repub BS.

Not at all, no interest whatsoever, none! none of this ridiculous "teabaggers will win" BS. Pull your head out of your ass and take a breath of reality.

I heard a good one on Halloween. The radio announcer said everyone in the studio was dressed in a costume for the holiday. He was going as Sarah Palin's new book, he was wearing a nice jacket and wouldn't be making any sense.

This "not conservative enough" BS the teabaggers have dreamed up makes the Birchers look like Boy Scouts. That ain't easy.

Especially since what the teabaggers and theocrats are asking for isn't even remotely conservative, it's actually a demand for a tyranny of mythology.

What the present "conservatives" seem to represent is a desire to usurp the constitution, violate it as much as possible, and install theocracy in the USA.

Hence we see anti-evolution quacking, attempts to control womens' bodies, treating women and children like they are property, attempts at biblical prohibitions enforced as law, and the like.

This is exactly the kind of insanity that brought down the moors during the dark ages, when they were so far ahead of the religion-ridden "west" that it wasn't even a contest.

What happened? The religious fanatics took over the moorish culture, and turned it from the culture that built elliptical arches, invented algebra, and so on, into the current wahibist nightmare.

That's where the current "conservative" wants to lead us, into death, dispair, degredation, poor health, and short, nasty lifespans. The present "conservative" wishes to bring down western civilization, in a nutshell.

Hoffman visits the Times

We just had a wacky hour at the Watertown Daily Times.

Blogger Robert Stacy McCain, who is following Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman around today, banged out a story at my desk while I was inside the editor and co-publisher's office watching the fireworks.

John B. Johnson Jr. was clear in this morning's editorial in our paper: The issues germane to the 23rd Congressional District are not being talked about because that discourse is getting drowned out by the cacophony from special interest groups outside the district.

Mr. Hoffman, it appeared, had not taken the time to read the local opinion page before visiting.

When asked about the rooftop highway that could connect Watertown to Plattsburgh, Mr. Hoffman said he was "open to reviewing and studying it."

When asked about winter navigation on the St. Lawrence Seaway, he took no position. When asked about widening and deeping the Seaway, he again said nothing.

The atmosphere was tense, at times.

Mr. Hoffman said at one point that if we were going to question him, that he needed to know in advance what we were going to ask him about.

That's not the way it works. Mr. Hoffman would likely find that out if he kept his commitment to the Clifton-Fine Development Corp.'s "meet-the-candidates" night tonight in Wanakena, instead of ditching them for an appearance on Glenn Beck's television show.

UPDATE: WWNY-TV is reporting that Mr. Hoffman's appearance with Mr. Beck is off, but that he will "not attend the Wanakena event anyway because he would be doing national press interviews."

Constituents ask questions about subjects that impact their lives, just as Mr. Johnson asked questions that he believes are in the best interests of our readers.

Dick Armey, the former House majority leader, watched as the back-and-forth unfolded. And then he offered an argument that we'll know is right or wrong on Nov. 3. The former Texas congressman said that Mr. Johnson had the right to base his endorsement on parochial issues, not national ones. But Mr. Armey said this race was going to be won or lost on national issues - taxes and the economy to name two - instead of issues of only local importance.

If Mr. Armey is right, then we're sunk. There's no learning curve here. Come Nov. 4, someone is going to represent us. They don't wait until Jan. 1 to take office. Let's make the right choice, whoever you believe that may be.

I give Mr. Hoffman a tremendous amount of credit for scheduling the meeting and keeping it, even though he likely knew this would not be a great-to-know-you-smiles-all-around affair. And I give the candidate even more credit, after being criticized for nearly a half-hour straight, for telling my publisher that he'd like to call him periodically for advice if he wins.

Mr. Hoffman may have not learned everything he needs to know in the four months since he declared his candidacy, but he's smart enough to realize that there's a network of support for him if he desires it.

I'll have video from his AM appearance with Mr. Armey later today.

Hoffman has "good mentors" in people like Glenn Beck

Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate for the 23rd Congressional District, was back on Glenn Beck's radio show today to talk about the race.
And while two were chatting, Mr. Hoffman mentioned that he considered Mr. Beck as one of his mentors.

Here's the exchange:

HOFFMAN: I have good mentors here.

BECK: Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Are they mentors that will show you

You will both be horridly surprised tomorrow. You could lose all three. The Washington Post seems to see the handwriting on the wall as they have already begun advising every leftie who will listen how little the events mean nationally. That is not the line they would use if they thought their folk would or even could win...

Every day that goes by the left steps in it a little deeper and more folk in the middle notice and say 'no thank you sir'. But the left could not care less what the voters want...the left knows better.

By this time next year Obama will be in the low 40's for approval and the dem congress at a new low...you could lose more than 50 seats in the house and half a dozen in the senate.

I expect to discover this time next year that today's love for the lug and prognostications of success will all be forgotten by the left...to the amusement of the right.
