CD catalog software

I've been using ClassicalCollector for years to catalog my CD's, but it will not run under Vista. Anyone using programs such as the ones from Collectorz.com or readerware.com? My main interest is classical music, but I have a lot of jazz and others as well.

Re: CD catalog software

There are way to many applications that don't or won't work with Vista. That's why I've stuck with XP. I'm waiting for Windows 7.

I've got a new computer, but I am due an upgrade to Windows 7. Maybe I'll wait it out, but the program is old and without support any longer, so I don't have much hope that "7" will make the difference.

Re: CD catalog software

I wrote my own database using MS Access. It has served me quite well although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles something like Songbird has. I expect it to work with Windows 7 as it is running on MS Access.

ncdrawl;
As a veteran the word foobar reminds me too much of FUBAR. It's really an awful name for an application.

Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.

That's what I'm reminded of when I see "foobar". That's probably why I've been using songbird. It's from the same open source as Open Office. I switched to Open Office from MS Office. The only part of MS Office I still use is Access. I'll be dropping that as soon as I get around to writing a DB in Open Office.

Re: CD catalog software

Well, I do use Songbird although it doesn't currently use ASIO. I got out of the service in 1970. Those old acronyms were still in use back then.
