Both Wes Phillips and I have had our samples of the C-5xe upgraded, but I can't really comment on the results until we have published Wes's follow-up review, scheduled for our July issue.

Well that was pretty quick...lol.
I was going to send mine in, but I am not sure how much better it can get....
I guess I am just reluctant to do without it for a while, but hopefully their turnaround time is fairly short.
Thanks for the update.
Ayre usually schedules updates providing an RA and telling you NOT to send it in before a certain day if they are backed up. That minimizes the amount of time that you will be without it.
Hi, first off I am a dealer but I am a passionate hobbyist foremost. My hobbyist desciption of the upgrade is that it transforms an already top notch player into something very special. At the price no one is getting rich but once you listen you will be in the same quandrary I am in, wondering how so little money can do so much??? Personally I would urge you to upgrade and "Enjoy the Music"!!!
Would LOVE to read or hear a comparison between this piece and the new Mark Levinson No. 512
