Yeah, where are all the bra burners now!? They're the ones who pushed the idea of women having the right to give birth to fatherless children. What ever happened to Gloria and all the others?

The reason there are so many children out of wedlock is because Feminism has evolved to reach its highest form: Children sans male involvement.

I watched a documentary one time and a group of female elephants that had lost all their adult male counterparts were having a hard time with most of the rogue adolescent elephants in the group. They never could get them under control. Later an adult male joined up and to make a long story short the adolescent elephants got back into line and things were right again.

60% of children born and raised under single mothers will end up in juvenile detention. Just one of many facts that happen to these kids. They are at a disadvantage the moment they are born and it doesn't matter what their circumstances may be. From a fiscal perspective all this bailout shit we complain about is about the same amount it costs the taxpayer taking care of single mothers and their children for about 7 years. Taxpayers spend about $112+ billion a year on this problem. I think a little better education on the outcome based on the facts of single motherhood would be money well spent. And its not just teen pregnancy or the poor. We got idiots like Cheryl Crow out there saying it is a good thing. Mother Nature will not work by our rules. She never has and never will.

I agree that children need a mother and a father and there's no substitute for a male figure in the household. I also agree that greater emphasis on education is needed. However, I don't think that we should turn our backs on the children just because we don't agree with the choices their mothers made.

I don't know why I wear that badge. I don't even have children of my own. I just believe it is THE biggest social problem America is facing today. Most people seem to be focused on racial and sexual preference issues that I don't give a rat's ass about. When you're middle class and you pay on average approx. $15k a year in taxes you tend to get a little picky about how the money is spent. I would rather see my hard earned dollars go towards beans and bullets as well as single motherhood prevention.

How about single motherhood prevention and eradication of feminism? I would spend my hard earned 15k on that any day.

If men are agreeable to unprotected sex, then they should share full responsibility for the outcome (gross pun unintended). Why hammer away at only the women involved?

Sexual responsibility cuts both ways. It's procreative, not just recreative. Our culture promotes sex as another drug to sublimate fear and anxiety and a neurotic status symbol of physical desirability. We are playing with fire -and the consequences include thousands of unwanted babies growing up without structure, love or meaning in their lives. And the cycle continues...

Feminism has its place. Women still earn less compared to men in the same positions. I get that from my wife. She also keeps my money in her purse.

We should get the Chinese to come down here and adopt all of our unwanted babies. It'll be a great cultural exchange program, but with something tangible.

I know lots of people who were pretty much raised by single mothers who turned out fine; The names Obama and Clinton come to mind.

Of course all you Republicans will figure those are just worse-case examples of how bad it can turn out....

Are you sure? Income/living situation makes no difference? Angelina Jolie's kids are just as likely to end up in jail as the kids of some inner city welfare mom?

Also, in trying to verify your figures, without exception, every single article that gave a number used 70%, not 60% and also used the phrase "By 1996, 70 percent of inmates in state juvenile detention centers serving long-term sentences were raised by single mothers." That phrase originated with an article by Ann Coulter and apparently is now accepted on the internet as fact. Do you have a different source or is your information also from her? She very well might be right but there's no way to verify where she got the information from or it's accuracy.

But they would only adopt the boys...then the gender population would shift and there would be more feminists to make your life miserable.

Actually, the problem is the privatization of your justice system. You need to get the corporations and the banks the hell out of your government systems.

1 in 31 people in the states are in the legal system, ie, parole, jail or probation. This does not include the juveniles.

In Canada, it's 1 out of every 912. We include our juveniles in that statistic.

Think about that. Think about it again. And then think about it again.

Then go look up the description for the word 'fascism'. Then lick the back of that sticker..and apply it squarely on the US government. Step back and look..and you'll have your answer.

It has very little to do with unwed mothers, and a lot to do with the rest of the situation.

As for guns..if you remove the stats for handguns, I believe that Canadians have more guns per person than the US. Handguns are for shooting your neighbor or yourself. This is retard territory.

Rifles are far more useful.

Jolie isn't exactly a single mother with that cute chick Brad Pitt hanging around. BTW, Obama was raised by his grandparents except for the period he can't remember being a poor Muslim in Indonesia. His mother was a fuck-up. His father was a fuck-up. Also, his mother wasn't a "single mother". She eventually became what we call a "widow". I actually read one of the Obama biographies. Anybody else read a whole book on Obama? Boring.

Here is another statistic. A 1990 study by the Progressive Policy Institute showed that the crimes rates caused by juveniles and adults raised by single mothers shows the distinction by race disappears. In other words, it isn't about race. White people raised in a single mother households are just as likely to fuck-up as black people raised by single mothers.

This would solve a lot of problems.

According to the Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, children from single-parent families account for 63 percent of all youth suicides, 70 percent of all teenage pregnancies, 71 percent of all adolescent chemical/substance abuse, 80 percent of all prison inmates, and 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children.

This isn't about what we each believe to be true. It is a problem. If I really didn't care I would suggest we do nothing about it. Let the whole lot lay in their own pile of shit.

BTW, I checked. Clinton's father died in a car wreck. That made his mother a widow until she married a guy named Roger Clinton. Notice the same last name.

I wish for once liberals would have enough balls to correct one of their own when they are obviously wrong. I mean come on. AM talk radio spent the last four years of Bush complaining about him. Get your shit in one sock and stop posting bullshit like Obama and Clinton were raised by single mothers. Or at least have the balls to look it up for the poor SOB that posted it to begin with.

I wonder how the data would look if any single fathers bothered to try to raise children instead of running around trying to plant their seed wherever it may take purchase.

Bill Clinton's father's name was William Jefferson Blythe. I'm not getting your point about the President taking the same last name as his stepfather. That's hardly unusual.

That quote is lifted word for word from Ann Coulter's book, Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America. I'm starting to sense a theme here.

Uh, yeah that is why I "quoted" it. Would you like her end notes to verify if they are correct? You're pretty smart. Figured out a quote. BTW, you accidentally quoted yourself. You might want to edit your post.

Source: Washington Times, March 16, 2001. Those of you in a big city might be able to verify this or not. If the figures are wrong than let us know. Don't have contempt prior to investigation. Just look it up.
