Discount replacements have been around for decades. Some are quite good and a subset of the cottage industry that is phono stlyi has been established with the goals of actually improving upon the original. However, in too many cases the assembly of such components can be slipshod and the stylus doesn't come up to O.E.M. standards, in some cases even being fitted to the cantilever at an incorrect angle or bonded when the original had been nude mounted. It's a bit like the body shop using non-O.E.M. parts to repair your car.

I have no experience with the company you mention. Hopefully, they did a superior job at a fractional cost.

Thanks fr the reply. I am pretty impressed with the quality of the stylus so far. Fit was perfect and I'd have to rate it equal to my Grado Blue but less warmth and good detail with a nice tight bottom end.
Now if I can just find an original Marantz headshell for the 6110 I'd be happy.
Trying to keep this TT more vintage since I have my Pro-ject on my main system.
