My friend Roger set up a media server at his house. It plays music, movies and gets a TV reception. He controls everything through his iphone. It's pretty damn cool. He did a good job.
I talked to the guys; we checked out your nice list of equipment, 'phones, amps (plural), mods, docks, etc. And we decided you can swing $300 for the hard drive. Go for it.
Grr... you're no help, Bill!
We're taking bets now. Not if you get it, but when... next week, next month...
Sort of like a pool to see how long he can resist his temptations? Will it be broken down into seconds? Because Self has a fast moving, advanced case of audiophilia. Hell, he may already have ordered the damn thing.
SD, just imagine - you could devote just 10% of the disk space to data, and carry around all the documents, etc you might ever want to open remotely, or give a powerpoint presentation, say... plus that would be a backup, to protect your docs. And you would still have a massive hard drive for all the music you want. Dude, how can you not get the bigger drive? Really, it's cheap at twice the price! Do it...do it...
(Hey, i've got $20 that says SD buys it within a week...)
You can send that $20 right here, buddy. And I'll use that toward getting the drive a week AFTER.
How's the hard drive? Working well, loaded up with music now?
Sad to report, I've yet to splurge on it. For goodness sakes, holy BillB, maybe I have a modicum of sensibility and self-control left in my veins! But like I said, you can send that check right on over since you lost the bet.
doggone, mrlowry didn't take me up on the bet. Couldn't do it directly w/ you SD, that would have been fixing the bet!
I did just get an iPod Touch. It's so cool. Just got the 8gig model. When at home I use the "Remote" app to control my basic music "network system" (AirTunes). Very pleased with it!
Bill-
I was looking for it to be more of a pool with grids and everything. Getting like 20 people involved at $5 or $10 per person and we would have been taking about real money.
