Yeah, kinda depressing.

On the plus side, it could have been 10 million more if he had chosen a legitimate running mate!

I, myself, am looking forward to Palin 2012 and the 35 to 40 million votes she'll manage to get!

Only 34% Now Blame Humans for Global Warming
Friday, April 17, 2009

Just one-out-of-three voters (34%) now believe global warming is caused by human activity, the lowest finding yet in Rasmussen Reports national surveying. However, a plurality (48%) of the Political Class believes humans are to blame.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/environment/energy_update

My spouse is irate over the overwhelming trend we see on TV now to make everything from toilet paper to electronics 'Green'...I tell her that I like the idea, as the advertising world and TV show writers are always at the end of a trend, and their over reaction to the trend helps to make it VERY uncool...to hasten its demise.

Wow, that 34% eerily parallels the support for the Republican party.

Glad to see you validating polling data.

Fox News has approval of Obama's performance at 58%.

(I used Fox so it would be familiar terriroty for ya.)

Why on Earth would your wife be irate about products trying to be green? What kind of product does she prefer?

Tell her not to worry about it. It's just corporate America making a fortune on the backs of liberals. Supply and demand.

I want the EPA to control seismic activity myself. Especially volcanoes. To be ironic, Mt Redoubt has probably already surpassed the entire history of man made greenhouse gases released into the air. Just one of many active volcanoes today. Then there are the ones that exploded like Krakatoa to Mt. St. Helens. Us mere humans pale in comparison.

But American liberals and Europeans want something on the shelf. If they'll buy it industry will make it. Everything from overpriced environmentally safe fabrics for gay married couples on the east coast looking to remodel their furniture to Windex at the local Target store for single mothers trying to buy their way out of feeling like a drain on society.

Here is the real culprit. Mother Nature. Try stopping it.

Don't forget cow farts. Here's the latest scientific research by Representative Boehner:

Minority Leader John Boehner described the overwhelming scientific consensus that carbon dioxide is contributing to climate change as "comical" during an appearance on Sunday, noting that cow flatulence contributes CO2 to the environment all the time...

"The idea that carbon dioxide is a carcinogen that is harmful to our environment is almost comical," said Boehner. "Every time we exhale, we exhale carbon dioxide. Every cow in the world, you know when they do what they do you've got more carbon dioxide."

It's a good thing we killed all those buffalo.

Imagine the environmental vandalism they were perpetrating.

Makes ya wonder why they were all created these six thousand years ago that John Boehner takes as a hard and fast date of creation.

Cow farts, buffalo chips, Al Gore passing gas...it's all the same. That worm in my flower garden leaves a carbon footprint.

I heard a report on the radio this morning that overweight folks are a cause of global warming...something to do with the amount/kind of food they eat and the gases they produce as a result. I wonder when Al is going on a diet to reduce his carbon footprint?

All this global warming stuff is fine to disagree about, but...

As we enter summer, a hot day is not proof of warming, and a cold day in winter is not disproof.

Washington, DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

Sad, neither side is capable of actually exploring the issue. No dissent allowed from either faith.

It's all either global warming Chicken Little nanny staters or people who deny it based on political goose stepping.

Meet any fellow political conservatives who believe in it? Liberals who don't? I find that insulting to either side.

Fascinating topic, real or imagined; man made, or not; remediable, or not.

Predating the whole pretend debate has been the Agriculture Department data from the 40's or 50's onward showing a northerly migration of planing zones for certain categories of plant.

It does seem we are getting warmer, but I'll leave the why to Al Gore and Rush Limbaugh - they both seem to 'know best.'

I believe in the Little Ice Age, which occurred after the Medieval Warm Period, no different than today's global changes. The former actually occurred and the latter is actually occurring. Seems a Lapland shepherd has found a dead baby mammoth. Somehow this discovery is related to global warming. I haven't really been looking but has anyone seen a recent study or even just an article on the current state of the infamous "ozone hole"?

You can't control people unless you have a lever.

The lever in use is food/energy/fear. Ie, threat of life/death.

We have had sciences which could give us limitless energy for hundreds of years.

Anyone who investigates these energies is in danger ONLY if they attempt to go public or look as if they are potentially dangerous to the extant power structures.

This, you will only discover - if you investigate those areas of science. Until then, you will never meet these very nasty people. Ignorance is their friend. It helps them keep a lid on things.

Remember (or analyze and understand for the first time), if you have limitless power, you don't need limitless energy. You have more than enough to get by. But if everyone has limitless energy, there goes the lever and control - of absolute power.

So, no energy for you.

The point? If we had limitless energy-these problems (at least these kinds) would not exist. At all.

However, with limitless energy comes the scenario of the power of limitless energy in the hands of angry angst filled 15 year olds. Not a pretty thought. For those who know, the secrets of these energies are actually very ...simple.

Threin lies the danger.

It's a bit of a quandary. When the mass of mankind receives the understanding of the simplicity of this type of energy it must simultaneously psychologically 'clear itself', or basically...very nearly end - right there. The point is that the two conditions cannot co-exist for long. Angry animalistic mankind and limitless energy cannot co-exist. Not a chance. Think about it.

Great the dump in the ocean is getting as bad as all that crap we got orbiting the earth. But buying "green" stuff from big corporations is big money for them. It's a enabling codependent society we live in. Buy green. Don't worry about the trash you can't see. Only merchant marines and astronauts and maybe an Aborigine or two will ever see it.

I find it interesting that global warming deniers will point to every cold day as proof that global warming is false, while at the same time referring to every warm day as a "random fluctuation".

And, of course, there's the solar activity issue. Presently, the sun would usually be entering a period of activity, and increased output. It is, however, appearing to be entering a maunder minimum instead, and having slightly decreasing output.

If so, it could give us a few years to cope with carbon emissions. That is, if the global warming deniers don't try to obscure the facts with their denial.

Actually, I don't think I've been a global warming denier, but I do think that global warming as an issue is irrelevant. The reason I say that is because even if we are responsible for global warming, it is easier and cheaper to adapt to the changes than to turn the entire global economy on its head. That's never going to be done, so we'll wind up adapting anyway, but only after years and years of wheel spinning.

What I do like is when a heat day record is broken is the last day it was that hot (usually before we were born). Right now I'm more concerned about lack of rain. It's raining cats and dogs in Texas and not a drop for months in Southeast New Mexico. I seeded the yard with buffalo grass. Looks brown until it rains or rather gets watered then turns green almost overnight. Does this mean I'm adapting?

Ancient Greece's 'global warming'
By Ben-Peter Terpstra
In Heaven + Earth (Global Warming: The Missing Science), Ian Plimer, Professor of Mining Geology at The University of Adelaide, Australia, asks us to embrace big-picture science views; for to recognize our limits is a sign of maturity. "Climate science lacks scientific discipline," says the pro-amalgamation Professor, and in order to see more clearly we need to adopt an interdisciplinary approach. This requires humbleness.

In Chapter 2: History, Plimer travels back in time, thousands of years, in fact, to debunk Gore's catastrophic global warming myths. I particularly like his research on the ancient Greeks. For Plato (427-347 BC) advanced the position that global warming occurs at regular intervals in Timaeus, and his famous pupil Aristotle (382-322 BC), referred to climate changes in Meteorologica.

That's funny. Dog breeding? Give me a break. That is man-made. Poodles? Pft! There is nothing in the fossil record of the natural order of poodles.

Face it. Darwin did a damn good job with what was available to him at the time. There has not been one shred of evidence to support his theory with the advancement of science. If Darwin was here today and saw what people were saying and doing in his name he would never stop throwing up. Same thing goes for Jesus Christ.

To get back on JIMV's topic. Same thing goes for fucking Global Warming. I'm so sick of the whole damn thing. Liberals have now got Corporate America turning it into a money making industry. Liberals are gullible fools! There will never be a, "Gore's Theory of Global Warming". The only thing Gore has accomplished is a new line of Clorox cleaning solutions for which he won't make one red dime and which he had no participation.

Every CEO in the country is brain-storming how they can cash in on this new hysteria.

That's right, it is man made, but through what we might refer to as "unnatural selection", man has replicated the evolutionary process. Except that in the dog breeding case, man played mother nature.

Al Gore has accomplished making money for himself. He came down to us like Jesus on a white horse, trying to save us from global warming, while he owns a major stake in the carbon trading company. So, Al Gore is your hero in that he invented an industry to make him money.

Also, please don't confuse American "liberals" with actual liberals. Americans love causes, whether liberal or conservative. They jump from one cause to another. They love to 'save the world' I happen to think that global warming is the worst thing to happen to liberal cause because that takes resources away from applying economic equality, which is what liberalism is about a great deal.

Global warming is the new religion of First World urban elites

Geologist Ian Plimer takes a contrary view, arguing that man-made climate change is a con trick perpetuated by environmentalists

By Jonathan Manthorpe, Vancouver SunJuly 28, 2009

Ian Plimer has outraged the ayatollahs of purist environmentalism, the Torquemadas of the doctrine of global warming, and he seems to relish the damnation they heap on him.
