Good point.
What I find interesting is the idea of selling digital music on a physical object other than a CD. Also, there is no DRM and a USB card reader to instantly put it on your computer. They are selling entire albums, not individual tracks as well.
A 1 gig card will easily hold a CD of full resolution wave files and usually could also hold MP3 versions. I think they should include both. Then one could burn a full resolution CD or load it into a server as desired. The card could also include liner notes and cover art.
The buyer than has lots of options, including the ability to put his new purchase right into his cell phone or other player and start listening as he leaves the store.

A card reader with each album? What do I do after I buy my tenth album, throw nine card readers in a landfill?
Albums and singles have coexisted since the vinyl days. I don't think this will cause the singles buyer to switch, but it's a nice thought.
Are there that many owners of cell phones and other digital players that don't have internet access? Sell the full-resolution version and download the mp3s and pdfs.
And for me, there is such a thing as too small. How do you organize a collection of these things? I can't wait to see the media storage choices at WalMart!

I suppose people may just throw them away. I would keep them and I guess I assumed others would do the same - I being the perfect example of all reasonable behavior of course.
I thought the whole idea the masses are into was downloads that required no "physical media"? I would think this makes no sense except...what do we audiophiles know. I can see how phonaphiles who are using their phones as their media player would buy into such a concept. I mean, if people will spend $700 on a "phone", why not? Why you would do this and not just download the files I do not understand.
As it is mp3s none of us would probably care. My U2 Ipod full of wav files is just fine for me. Maybe my days as an early adopter are coming to an end.
