If you email Stephen he might be nice enough to add it to the archives. Also I'd put an email in the post or in your profile so that a nice forum member with a scanner could send it to you. Alas I don't have a scanner, for some reason I remember Sam review a Boulder amp around that time.
Yeah, Stephen will probably put it up.
Boulder is a brand you buy used, for sure. Do you have a line on one.
Dave
Struts, as your attorney I advise you to plead "The Fifth"
Thanks guys. Stephen PMed me very promptly with a lead and a copy of said issue is on its way to me now. Thanks, Stephen!
Boulder has only been available in Scandinavia for just over a year (I know this for a fact as I was apparently the first customer when I bought my preamp) so I am not expecting a used market to develop for a few decades yet
However I was able to procure my dealer's 1060 demonstration unit at a good price* which I am very happy about. Right now at least (I have proven myself wrong before) it definitely feels like my last amp!
To your comment Dave, I didn't realize there was much of a used market for Boulder, even in the US. Is that the case?
* On the advice of my attorney I will not be taking any further questions and refer you to Mr. Sam Lowry.
Mr. Struts-
For what you are paying me you can call me Sam. One last piece of humble advice. Sir I highly recommend that you start lifting weights and/or make friends with a bodybuilder. That thing weights in at 140 lbs!
Sam,
For what I am paying you I could make a couple of suggestions of my own! Anyway, you've managed somehow to keep me out of jail so far I suppose you are worth it...
Regarding the Boulder, well let's just say I probably wouldn't have got quite such a good deal had my appartment not had an elevator; it is definitely a two-man lift! One of the big attractions of buying the demonstrator was that it was already unboxed!
Anyway it is now happily installed in its rightful place from which it will not be moving in the forseeable future. The 1060 is one of those amps you vacuum around rather than under...
Btw, for some real schadenfreude check out this thread documenting the delivery and installation of a pair of mbl 101E 'Radialstrahlers' to the upper floor of an appartment with a very tight spiral staircase. Text is in Swedish unfortunately, but the pictures are of course in English
That room needs some acoustical treatment. Nice gear, as well.
Apropos Dave's comment I noticed this ad on AudiogoN which shows that there is indeed a pre-owned market for Boulder (I guess they have been around a while now). This guy apparently upgraded from a Boulder 2060 to an amp from FM Acoustics which is a brand I am familiar with. Any of you good folks heard them?
