Of course 1hz. This is so basic.

Not basic at all! As I said, most people spot check at third octave intervals. Even really good engineers often misunderstand room acoustics, so why should I have assumed you know how to measure a room?

I don't need to portray you as anything - you do a great job all by yourself.

Anyway, back to your listening room, maybe this is in a basement and you have substantial insulation above the drop ceiling? Again, I never see a 12 dB span in a typical enclosed and untreated room that size. It's always much worse than that. If you'd like to post a few photos of your space, and a graph of the response you measured, and show where the microphone was placed, I'd be pleased to comment further.

I was trying to be descent in my response, but the question has nothing to do with my system or measurements, but if your measurements/graphs are accurate and can pass the scrutiny test. Afterall, you are the one who introduced measurements/graphs into your arguement and also tried to compare the speaker/room frequency response to the Bryston amplifier frequency response.

Since we are off topic, I started a new string at:

Please read carefully as there are many subjects covered and information presented.

Wow, an argument about whether all gear sounds the same or not!

That's novel!

Unfortunately, I have to dredge through the quadmire of self proclaimed experts who have never taken even one electronics class or exhibited even one stringent listening experiment except with a room meter.

Hi Steve, I noticed your web site several years ago and read a few of your posts here.
I find it interesting when people bring up the fact that they are trained in electronics.
Do you have a bio online or some writeup with more detail?

Here is mine by the way; I don't normally offer it but you seem to be asking. Just want
to establish the point that I am not a "self proclaimed expert" to use your own words:

Interesting discussion.

Cool, I feel much safer here with an engineer trained in water safety.

I didn't see any Hi Fi bonafdes, though.
