Don't Panic! The integrated wouldn't be powering the sub. The sub has it's own amp, which is what what powers the sub. When using speaker level inputs on the sup, the A70 would be sending the audio signal, but the subs amplifier would still be powering the sub. Incidentally, the Arcam A70 and Thiel CS1.6 are a GREAT match.

According to the manual:

"Recommended connection for Stereo applications:
High Level Inputs and High Level Outputs
Located on the rear of your MIRAGE subwoofer are 4 sets of binding posts.
The pair marked Inputs should be connected to the left and right speaker
terminals of your amplifier or receiver. Each pair is color-coded black/red.
These terminals will accept up to 12-gauge quality speaker wire. Remember:
Always connect red-to-red and black-to-black when making connections
between amplifier/receiver to subwoofer. If you inadvertently reverse one
of the connections (i.e., red to black), you will notice a lack of bass from
your subwoofer.
The second pair of high-level terminals are marked High Level Outputs and
can be used to transfer a signal to your speakers. Using speaker wire,
connect the left and right outputs to the rightful speaker inputs. Each pair is
color-coded black/red. These terminals will accept up to 12-gauge quality
speaker wire. Remember: Always connect red-to-red and black-to-black when
making connections between amplifier/receiver to subwoofer. If you
inadvertently reverse one of the connections (i.e., red to black), you will
notice a lack of bass from your subwoofer. See diagram 3."

So you see, it will work. No need to return anything.
If you've lost you copy of it.

Enjoy the Arcam and Thiels. You've made good choices in both purchases.

Not to worry - Your subwoofer has a built-in amp and will present a very high impedance load (although it's not spec'd, I'm sure it's much higher than 8 ohms) to your Arcam. Wire the sub and your speakers as described in the "High Level Inputs and High Level Outputs" section of your subwoofer manual.

Thank you both for your responses. This is a relief.
