Ouch.

Letting the magic smoke out of electronics always makes them stop working.

I suggest that you first check to see if any fuses are blown. There may be an external accessible fuse of fuses. If so, change any that are blown and try again. If no joy, open up the receiver and look for the internal fuses and see if they are blown. Hopefully, this will solve the problem.

If not, there are many things that could have fired. As you learned, amplification components don't like being connected this way, fussy little beasts.

And if you get it going, don't do this again!
