Wireless Noteworking?
Do you mean: Wireless Not-Working?
If so than may I suggest that you try not to use any wireless routers made by Thomson since their routers tend to be complete pieces of junk.
Note-working. As in musical notes. It's a pun.
...Ugh...
The proper response to a pun, as per the New York Times crossword puzzle editor.
The Digital Domain
The Bit Rate
The Data Stream
High-Rez Avenue
Polishing A Turd
LOL! My vote goes with Polishing A Turd: PAT. Catchy.
Kibitz and bits
Convergence street
Wireless world
21st Century Audio
The Next Big thing
The endangered formats of the world need to distinguish themselves, ala Analog Corner.
The rest of us realize it
More PUNishment:
HAL's PALs
The Bus Stop
Screwed, Blued & CPU'd
Now we
Will MF then tell us how he can discern the differences between key pads and wireless antenna. AudioQuest and Shungtatataya will have a entire new line of products, audiophile grade keyboards, antenna, and we know MF will hear the differences..and keep telling us how good his latest $600,000 TT sounds so much more like music. Better pace and better whatever that is nonexistent in reality. Rotary phones sound more analog than those nasty keypad phones with digital ckts...nothing like the sound of RELAY switching ckts at the local office...the soun dof lead encased Bell N.J. wires out on teh poles from 1954, some are still out there, and I can hear teh difference, they are the phones that get all noisey after it rains, cus the crap is so ratty....But it's so lifelike, yeah, life like when there was 1 phone for 10 people on the block. Ever wonder why AUDIO philes are teh seemingly only group that wants to live with no inovations or improvemnts, old tube amps, old TT I bet in Cuba there are Audiophile bargains, some old tube crap with some old cloth wires, which some nudnicks say "sound" better....
LOL
DUP...Relax, take a breath....FOCUS
This is the "Digital Music Server Area Naming Competition" thread.
Do you have some NAME SUGGESTIONS for the "Digital Music Server Area"?
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
RG
Well, JA did say that he thought that music sounded better going through the wired ethernet link rather than the wireless, so audiophile keyboards are not that far fetched.
Are you kidding, it goes way, way deeper than that, man it goes right down the CUP level. AMD is way more musical than Intel. And as for hard drives, Western Digital drives are a little on the mellow side whereas Seagate drives are kind of on the bright side. Operating systems: MAC is tough to beat, like a good turntable, while Windows is the iPod of the computer audio world - a little thin sounding but everywhere and of course, for the DIY guys there's Unix.
Edit: Okay, so now I got all of that nonsense posted on the web. Soon it will be indexed by the major search engines and then magically it will become gospel via some blogger or other. So remember, you read it here first.
How about "Nerds' Neighborhood"?
Remember, wired or wireless should not make any difference . . .

Reader Agim Perolli, who is fascinated by the subject of jitter, sent me spectra of his SB3's analog fed by WiFi and by Ethernet cable. They were identical! So if it's the same data presented to the same DAC at the same time, maybe I _did_ imagine it?

That's so weird! I was going to make this same suggestion yesterday. I spent some of the afternoon listening to Blonde On Blonde.
John,
Did Amazing Randi make you say that??
Jewels and Binoculars is a great name. It gets my vote.
Jewels and Binoculars is also the name of one of my favorite jazz ensembles: the trio of Lindsey Horner (bass), Michael Moore (reeds) and Michael Vatcher (drums) who play the music of Bob Dylan. So far they have three CDs available
1) Jewels and Binoculars (Play the music of Bob Dylan) - on Ramboy Records (Ramboy 15)
2) Floater - also on Ramboy (Ramboy 20) Link: Ramboy
3) Ships With Tattooed Sails - on Upshot Records and available here Upshot
All three CDs are highly recommended and sound wonderful whether played on a conventional CD player or via a music server

Whad I win?

OK.
Let's get serious.
"Media Servings".
There. That says it on many levels and sticks to the topic, as a title.. in a way that it can be intrinsically understood by the intended audience, no matter what given way their noggin works.
RAM boy RECORDS????!!! THAT SURE DON'T SOUND GOOD TO ME.
MIDI It's already proven name...steal it

Twenty-five high resolution downloads with no DRM from the iTunes Store*
* At the present time, nor at any time in the foreseeable future, the iTunes Store does not offer high resolution downloads. Oh, also the store does not offer DRM free downloads. But rest assured, if and when the iTunes Store does offer DRM free high resolution downloads, you get your 25 downloads.
LMAO...
RG
I'm glad that you are able to enjoy your prize. I'm also glad that you did not mention the fact that DRM free high resolution downloads are available from the Linn web site since the cost of twenty-five of the Linn hi-rez downloads is well in excess of the GNP of any developing country. In fact, I think, no make that I'm sure, that one could hire a professional recording studio and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and produce your own twenty-five high resolution recordings for much less than the cost of twenty-five Linn downloads. Oh, and still have enough money left over to upgrade one's speakers to a new pair of Wilson WAMMs.
How about the actual words of "Digital Music Servers" coverted to pure binary? Here ya go- and yes, it's real.

Itunes does offer DRM free downloads at 256 in it's itunes plus store.
Not hi-res but at least a step in the right direction.
