Check your settings in the Oppo menus.
Which settings?
Also, there's a bit of lag between the TV sound and the Rega/Oppo/NHT Three's sound. Hence, I don't use the TV sound when watching DVDs.
No digital receiver needed.
When in doubt, read the (Oppo) manual.
There are knowledgeable Oppo owners on the forum who may advise, but the manual may answer your specific situation more quickly.
These types of sync issues are common.
There are some that can be addressed. For example, most DVD players can add some audio delay to compensate for the video delay caused by lots of video processing in TVs, etc. (see your manual).
Other sync problems you won't be able to solve - and some are even in the source.
I am not a vidiot so others may have more specific help. It surprises me that these problems are so prevalent given the tremendous popularity of video systems.

Look to page 24 and 42 to make sure you set the Oppo for stereo audio output as shown with the DOWNMIX to stereo, FRONTSPEAKER to large, all other speakers to small, and subwoofer to off. Make sure the CHANNEL DELAY is off and see 9. on page 45, you may need to play with these settings to get the audio and video in sync. And as you found out, turn the TV speakers off. Good luck.
Thank you soooooooooooo much!!!!
I forgot to add that you can probably also listen to your TV (on-air, cable or satellite) through your audio system if the TV has stereo RCA output jacks. It would take up another line level input on your Rega Mira. Make sure the TV speakers are turned off.
Cool, great idea!
I think I got it sync'd up. I verified your previous settings, and adjusted the Audio Delay a couple of notches, and TaDa....
BTW. Are you into the Eagles? That Aussie Farewell DVD is mighty fine, if you are. Tight arrangements, pristine, etc. Man, it's just not fair that they can sing like that.....
;-)
Again, thanks so much
Hey! I'll check it out! Where in mudduckland are you at? I'm 85 miles from the SIDS.
Bloomington.
SIDS?
Sorry, SIDS short for cities, as in Twin Cities. My boss from Mankato says that a lot.
It took me a moment to figure this one out, too.
Not an acronym I'd use since its primary meaning is the medical one. But I'm not from MN.
Q. What did the Minnesotan say to the Pillsbury dough boy?
A. Hey, nice tan!
Correct. You can also choose to leave your TV speakers on; I adjust the relative volumes between stereo and tv speakers so I get most of the sound from the separate speakers, but I like to have a little sound from the tv too to provide "center fill".
That's funny; and relavent this winter. Man it's been a cold winter. It pretty much sucks...
That is a good joke. It has been a cold long winter this year. Just try to convince the average Minnesotan that global warming is a problem.
I have never heard sids (cits?) as a reference to the Cities before. It must a be a very local thing.
