Give a listen to Denver's www.kuvo.org I'm lucky enough to get it over the air, but it's been selected as top US jazz station for the last two-years. It's really great.

Okay, so I add KUVO-FM to my squeeze network favorites so that I can give it a good listen via the Transporter and lo and behold like most good radio stations whose web address ends with ".org" they are in the middle of a fund raiser and begging for money!! Don't worry as a long time non-commercial jazz radio listener I'm quite used to on-air (or on-line) fund raisers. I'll do my best to weather the storm and give KUVO a second chance.
Edit: I forgot to check until after I had sent this reply but the bit rate is only 64kbps VBR (mp3) - and that's the "high speed" connection - not very good.
Oops, didn't even think about that. I think it's over on the 14th.
I'll make a larger donation this year so that I can attend the events at their studio. They bring in some great artists.

WHO ARE THOSE GUYS?
Jazzfan, every once in a while you knock one out of the park!
Great programming and what has to be true 128 streaming. Others claim it but my ears don't hear it. I usually stick with RadioIO Jazz for the sound quality but these guys sound just as good, perhaps a tad better!
Love the way they mix some of the 50's stuff on the modern stream, or someone just has a thing for Gene Ammons? Hell, they even play listenable free stuff!
Great find Jazzfan, Thanks.
RG
Excellent!
thank you
Oops again, I didn't mean to imply that KUVO streams at hi rez. However, the do broadcast in Hi Def FM, whatever that is.
Dave
Unfortunately HD Radio is not high definition. See, e.g.
Here's one I found today while searching for jazz clubs in Berlin, Germany since I will visiting Berlin this weekend.
The station is operated out of Berlin and is called JazzRadio, Berlin (surprised?) @ http://tv13.stream-music.net:8340/ (streams at 128kbps in mp3, wma and Real Media.)
It seems to be worth a listen but I should note that for some reason the stream is coming through my SqueezeBox and SqueezeNetwork has if it has radio static in it, very strange indeed.
I'll have to listen to the stream through my computer and to hear if does the same thing......And I just did and sure enough, it still sounded like there was static. Now how does an internet mp3 stream have static in it???
Here's one I listen to a lot, called "Bebop Nation"

WBGO Newark
KKJZ Long Beach
Jazz FM91 Toronto
KCSM San Francisco
KUVO Denver
WWOZ New Orleans
KBSU Boise State University
Awesome recommendations, especially the WBGO Newark. My buddy recently turned me on to "Rhythm Revue" on Saturdays, 10-2, and I know I'll be listening to it every week.
Hey, can someone tell me the url for wbgo.org's stream? I want to add this to my squeezebox, but don't know how... thanks!
Do you mean that jazz station out of Newark, NJ that seems to feel that jazz is at least 50% vocals? If so then the url to use for Sqeezenetwork is http://wbgo.streamguys.net/listen.pls
WBGO is a good station but it could be a really great if it just didn't play so many vocals and bad vocals at that.
Hmm... haven't heard WBGO other than "Rhythm Revue" on Saturdays between 10-2, which I've really grown to love. Thanks for the link, jazzfan.
Well, it looks like right after I posted the URL for "Bebop Nation" they went off the air for a couple of weeks. They are back now though.

I also just found another good one called, strangely, "Pul-luP - Jazz Session - didi". This one has a 192k bit rate, and both the sound quality and music selections are very good.

I'm sorry I thought I had provided the links to the streams in my post above. Here is the one I use for WBGO: http://wbgo.streamguys.net/listen.pls
I can't edit my original post which had the incorrect link to the WBGO stream.
Dave, is there a different url for KUVO?
I just now tried this one:
http://denveredu.ic.llnwd.net/stream/denveredu_kuvo_hi
and it worked fine.
