I think he was trying to be funny. This is why he is an FORMER stand-up comedian.
I think MF is just following the old rule that says a person is allowed to make ethnic or interest-group jokes about a group he belongs to.
I'd say no harm was done and, actually, he got a positive reponse by finding an audiophile who has worked on a car and admits to having had a friend who was Jewish.
Now, if we can only put it all together and find a Jewish audiophile who actually works on cars himself, Mikey will be fully discredited!
I heard that the "Audiophile and Automobile Repair Anti-Defamation League" has already condemned Fremer's insensitivity. Mikey is done for, now he'll never get that gig demonstrating turntable set-up in the Catskills.
(Purely goofing off.)
I have, upon occasion, changed my own oil. I even add power steering fluid on my own. Given the mess I make with both, however, I would not consider myself a credit to my people. Then again, I'm equally dangerous with a soldering gun.
jason victor serinus
all of whose grandparents emigrated to the U.S. to escape the pogroms in Russia
Perhaps keep it away from the car?
I hear he KILLS in the Garment District.
As someone who likes classic cars as much as audio equipment(yes it's true),
I work on my own cars by choice & necessity. I can't afford a professional & frankly don't trust many mechanics! But I'm not Jewish!lol
So, the search continues.
How did you get a Latin name like Jason Victor Sarinus? That's a name of a Roman Emperor, not of a Russian Jew escaping pogroms. Do you work on your own chariot?
