Woo Hoo! A thread in the Analog Forum!
I coveted that table when I was a lad. If they were cheaper now, I'd buy one just to sit and watch spin, like Grosse Fatigue does!
Ok, I'll look for some other old "iconic" tables...
Oh man, you're killing me. I had the next version of that Lux. It was basically the same plinth (such as it is) and arm, but with a more elegant on/off and speed control. That had an extremely high WAF and it actually sounded pretty good with my Platter Matter mat, remember those?
Still, soncially, my Pro-ject RM10/Sumiko Blackbird combination blows the old Lux in the weeds. Hmm, wonder if the Lux could manage the Blackbird. Oh, wish I hadn't given it to the Salvation Army now.

I used to have one of these - Ariston - RD11s
And this was shockingly bad -- but the concept seemed good
Oh, wow, man! That one table's so old it was before the world was in color.
Artsy image of my lo-fi Phillips 212. Currently using Grado cart. GP would love it because it's nice to stare at for hours and hours.
