Sounds like a very servicable system, except that I would look at Epos ELS-3, Infinity Beta 20 or 40, and PSB Image B25 Monitor loudspeakers. There are better speakers in the $400-500 price range than the KEF. I enjoy movies on a two channel system.

I agree with Jackfish that speakers seem to be the place you can really have some shopping fun.

There's no substitute for listening your brains out.

You may end up preferring the KEF's, but listen to the speakers Jackfish mentioned to get and idea of what fits your taste.

In this price range, the receiver and disc player should be fine with whatever speakers you choose in the end.

Just for fun, go to www.musicdirect.com and look at the Mobile Fidelity OML-1 demos on sale. In some of the finishes, it is priced as low as 599 per pair.

The NHT Classic Model Three (can be seen at Audio Advisor) is a cool speaker.

Have fun with it and keep us posted!

Last night I just happened to experience the second model of HUMAN loudspeakers I have heard. I previously was at a college professor's house who had HUMAN 88-41s connected to a bunch of nice McIntosh and Rega gear and was extremely impressed by them. Well, last night I was at a DNR water quality specialist's home who moved here from New Hampshire and has HUMAN 81 loudspeakers connected to a Cambridge Audio Azur 640A amp and 640C CD player, and a Goldring GR2 turntable. The HUMAN 81 loudspeakers should also be on one's short list of $400-500 speakers. They just sound good.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I'll be looking for places to listen to these speakers.

Am I limiting myself by getting the Outlaw RR2150 in terms of upgrading to more speakers in the future?

Should I consider something like a Slim Devices Squeezebox for my digital music?

Thanks again for the input so far. I look forward to more.
