They are quite nice for the money. A bit uncomfortable, but you can separately buy Grado's softer earpads for little money and replace the pads.

Grados appeal to a particular taste. I find Grado phones to be too bright to the point of being shrill. They lack soundstage and super deep bass. However, what they do have is very quick, snappy bass, clarity and microdynamics. People who value that snappy quickness love grados. People who value warmth and depth hate grados. The SR80's are a bit shrill. I find the SR60's are better. They're not as detailed, but better balanced. The best Grados I've heard were the 225's.

I like the Grados because they seem accurate and neutral without harshness or an over emphasized bottom end. There's a difference between "warmth" and over-boosted lows.
