Are you speaking of the Jennifer Warnes release, the Leonard Cohen version or the Tori Amos rendition?

I've have the original LP from Warnes and have heard the Cohen and Amos versions but this is the first I've heard of a remastered version...by anyone.

I purchased a USA import of Famous Blue Raincoat remaster when it first came to these shores and am totally confused (an easy thing to do, some would say).

Namely, the one track which has both JW & LC on it is Joan of Arc (correct?) and the additional three normal tracks are very good (esp Runaway Horse) and then the live version of Joan of Arc from the 92(?)live concert - live versions of anything never mix really good to me on any studio albums, and if there was one track which SCREAMS 'do not touch' from the original, then it would have to be that one (?) so, what is the purpose of this add on...I can sing better without him? go buy more live stuff because it is good? I can really sing live and here is the proof? I just cannot get my head around the logic...

To be filed on the shelf marked 'not sure' 'misc' or even 'standard' (as suggested already) would be my vote at the moment after maybe four or five listens...and the original remains in the file marked 'all time classic landmarks of music'...

Haven't had the pleasure of hearing the import release. I'd be interested in hearing JW & LC together...hopefully better than JW & Joe Cocker.

I agree with you, dormston, I've never heard a mixture of live & studio recordings that sounded good, on the same release. One that comes to mind is The Band's "Last Waltz"...the tunes recorded, without the audience seemed to be filler. It took away from the "live" enthusiasm.

I file my music alphabeticaly...it just seems to be easier.

WOW...got it now Mikenumbers...thank you...I could not figure out what I was missing until I read your reply...and maybe even now I am missing something as I am live listening via a cheap / mid range laptop and Beyerdynamic DT 250's (fantastic headphones and surely amongst the best low cost!) but, anyway...JW and LC do not seem to actually be "together" - they are on the same track, yes, but I cannot find them in harmony, or even disharmony al la Joe the shaky hands with JW which at least sounded so 'real'...

Also as an aside, now that I am in find the flaw mode, is it not remarkable that the new remastered version includes a booklet with all sorts of buddy buddy stuff 'twixt JW and LC and yet the one joint effort (Song of Bernadette) does not merit a duet???

Good idea with the alphabet...tried it once...The The, The Animals, The Band, The B 52's. The Beatles, The Cars, The Damned, The Eagles...and so on...just could not find a 'T' file sufficiently large...tee hee..

Anything involving Leonard Cohen just has to be Jazz...

BRILLIANT music wherever the dratted thing gets filed...gosh that Runaway Horse thing is just so good!!!
