Musiland MD-10 for $300
Liteaudio DAC-60 for $470
There are some good DACs from http://www.diykits.com.hk/
The DIYEDEN Great March II for $425
If you can find a used Benchmark Media DAC-1 for $750 or less that might be good.
Both the Entech and Audio Alchemy DACs are worth it when found for a reasonable price on ebay.
Check out the Channel Islands Audio Dac-1. I used it for a CD upgrade adn now as my music server DAC. Great sound and budget price ($450) For a little more get the upgraded power supply.
Check out Musical Fidelity A324 DAC. It goes for about $600 on Audiogon and it pretty much blows everything else away for even 4x the money.
Thanks, y'all. I wound up ordering the Beresford TC-7510 MK-6 for about $200. It includes a headphone amp and can handle 4 digital sources. Also thought about a Zhoalu but I don't know if I want to mod anything and that seems to be why they're so popular.
Other contenders were the MSB Link DAC & Del Canto DAC2. If I had that much money I'd like to get the Del Canto DAC2 and experience the upsampling.
