How do those P162s compare to the Bose 201. I was looking around on crutchfield and saw that the two where about the same price, and I've always thought that bose was the best in sound quality, but that could just be nonsense rolling through my head because of their commercials and hype.

and does it matter with the ohm impedance and power since they are connecting to the computer and not a receiver thing.

Yea, I thought I'd need something like a receiver or amp, but I wasn't sure. But would it be okay if I waited. Because I'm dropping 1500 into my computer + the cost of speakers, so I'm kinda short on spare money. So should I wait till I have enough to get both the amp and the loud speakers or can I get the speakers and then save up for the amp, then get the rest of the speakers after that.

so do you mean I won't get any sound what so ever, or do you mean they won't be loud or the quality will be much lower?

and I've pretty much decided on what I would like my full setup to be; Front left and right: Primus P252, Back surround left and right: Primus P162, and for the center channel: Primus PC250.

I was looking into it, and I saw some Polk audio that looked nice, how is their quality.

it uses a Realtek ALC889a High-Definition audio codec supporting 7.1 channel surround sound up to 32-bit/192KHz, but I do see what you mean. I tried hooking up my speakers that I have now to my family computer and it didn't work out so well. Just a little feed back buzz and crackle, then no sound at all. So, I'm assuming the audio setup that my mobo will have will do the same :/ so that means I'll have to get an amp right off before I get the speakers. Do you guys know of any good places to buy amps like the one you had mentioned. I plan on buying the speakers from cructchfield cause they are genereally cheaper and they have free shipping, but as far as the amp, i didn't see it on there. So I was wondering where a good place would be to get a price on the amp would be. Thanks for all the help so far *thumbs up* i'm starting to understand more, but is there any good informational sites that I could go to to learn about the amps and how to set them up, and speakers, etc. Thanks again.

yea, i was think of maybe just getting a longitec thing, but I might get an amp, because I have 6 speakers now, not the best quality, but they are speakers, so I figure I can get the amp now and the upgrade my speakers later.

and as far as the computer, I do plan on getting blue ray in the future, and I spent about 3 or 4 months researching and norrowing down the parts to exactly what I wanted and needed for what I plan on using it for.
