Ahhhhh!
DUP is back in all his glory!!!!!!!
Can anyone "rant and rave" as well as he?
I look forward to receiving July's Edition in the mail.
Well i got MINE last week, I must be special!!! There are typos in the Krell review, Krell is this month's ULTIMATE integrated, when ain't anything ULTIMATE, eessshh. and of course the Primare CD31...is of course as good as CD can sound, a few month's ago, there was some other CD player that did that, and this thing only plays CD's!!! For over $2,000. Bet a cheaper universal player will sound as good, or BETTER doing SACD/DSD!!! CD only players are dumb, no matter how many chassis or magic pucks and panels it has.
Typos?
yupper, VPI HW-19 record cleaner, and a VPI HW-19 MK14, might be a special one only model? I don't think so. Teh edidotrs and all that word processing computers, missed it. Maybe the price of some of teh stuff like teh Kreel was only $1650.00 not $16500. But it will heat teh room in teh winter, too bad they didn't stick a Fluke temp probe on it and give some NUMBERS as teh thing fries itself. And i wonder where it's made? china, has Kreel gone outside? For $16500. It would be good if they kept it made here. Is it? Maybe all reviews should tell country of origin, just for info reference, kinda keep track of what's happening to teh industry, and question why if it's made in "those" places why such a high price? I have a lot of U.S. made stuff that is actually reasonably priced, cus' most of teh people doing it got a living wage I would think. Not just the CEO of the import company. If it's made in China it should be priced like it. McIntosh is still made here, ain't it? Or do they out some of their stuff, I don't think so. AVA, made in Mn, VPI Rane, still put together here. Legacy too.
Talk about heating the room, your amps raise the temperature of the room by 15 degrees according to the post in the systems pictures area. But that doesn't count of course. Yes, and fan noise is not a problem either, your amps are in another room! Help me out here folks, DUP's posts must be tongue-in-cheek, right? And this Krell made in China thing, where does that come from? What is the basis for that statement? Oh none, I see, so let me join you. Legacy is made in Taiwan! But that is fine, they do excellent work there!
Let's me ask the question again. Where is teh Krell made, really, is it china, or in a country that has living wages? Just curious, for such a pricey product. Lotsa expesnive stuff still made here. McIntosh, Rane, Legacy Audio is made in Illinois. Designed by a here guy. Like AVA. Didn't Parasound go to the land of the cheap labor, while trying to remain some image of high end? If you is gonna sell some pricey stuff at least let teh workers get a living wage off it. I am curious, where is teh Krell made? Lately teh shortcomings of chinese stuff like poisoned cat/dog food, defective stuff, bad toothpaste, counterfit goods, just a few Chinese issues. Ever see some counterfit ckt breakers with fake UL stickers etc....nothing like inoperative ckt breakers in your service panel...
Krell's factory is in Connecticut. I last visited it about 3 years ago.

And I still look forward to Julys edition in my mail Box.
Is everything made there, or are certain units' "outsourced"? Many companies make the expensive stuff here, and outsource the CHEAP stuff, in the case of Krell $16K is their cheaper line right? How bout' this particular unit, was it made here or Malaysia or some other fine country....if they still make it in CT, bravo.....
If I remember correctly, Krell outsources their cheaper stuff. I believe the SACD standard was made in China. However, their more expensive (evolution and fpb series) components are made locally.
Dup is awesome. You make some great observations. I am borrowing my buddy's copy so figured I would stop by this months section.
I wouldn't say CD-only players are dumb, but I will say that I'm having a lot more fun with my Oppo than I ever had with my NAD. There's something about the...um...universality of universal players that is very liberating. I suspect that the Ayre C-5xe and I would get along just fine.
