Let's see.
K.D. Lang
Alison Krauss and Union Station
Norah Jones
Tish Hinijosa
Those off the top of my head.
Jonatha Brooke (does an eerily good cover of Alan Parsons' "Eye in the Sky too)
Tracy Chapman (Albums: "Let it Rain" and Self-Titled)
Natalie Merchant (and her stuff with 10,000 Maniacs)
Sarah Harmer
And Suzanne Vega
Try Loreena McKennett!
Her music is more haunting and less about falling in love than Sarah's, but it's GREAT!
Her top notch band plays a fascinating mix of instruments including lutes, lyres, even a hurdy gurdy (!) in addition to the usual stuff.
"Book of Secrets" is a primo album. I'd buy that first.
Her newest, "An Ancient Muse" is terrific, too.
Ah, man! I wanted to post that!
