Is this creative photography, or does the Nagra play discs with the pitside up?

No, that's the "mute" function.

This is exactly when every crummy CD player in my house sound just like the Nagra! I just saved the $14K. LIfe is good!

I don't know about the Nagra, but a number of Wadia transports are configured this way.

My transport uses the now out-of-production Pioneer Stable Platter mechanism which requires loading the CD pit side up.

Oh, Hell, now I'm going to have to read the review. I was just tweaking Jim. I had no idea anyone actually made a transport that required the discs be placed with the pits up. I'll be right back with the REAL answer.

Nope, it's still the mute function.

Maybe, just maybe, this is one heck of a laser assembly and error correction is beyond unbelievable. Through-the-label disc reading....BRILLIANT!

I'll bet it could burn off some moles I have on my "person". If I could just get MediCare to pay for it as a "medical expense". Maybe I could get Dr. Kal to write me a prescription? Eh, Probably not.
