Not a lot to go on here. A process of elimination produces one candidate, but it doesn't feel right to me.

Telarc have never had particularly many female solo artists on their roster (shame on them!) and the baroque theme narrows it down even further. So based on that information I come down to A New Baroque by Yolanda Kondonassis. The only problem is I don't recall it ever figuring prominently in 'phile (or any other audiophile publicatiion for that matter). The Telarc website cites an enthusiastic review from The Harp Column. I rest my case!

Anything other details you can remember would help. For instance was the artist a solo vocalist or solo instrumentalist and if so which instrument?

Some of the regulars on this board are remarkably adroit at these guessing games so I'm sure someone will get it.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Kondonassis, since she's a harpist -- and to paraphrase Buddy Rich, "there's no sound in harps." Was the woman in question a singer or an instrumentalist? Can you remember any of the repertory at all?
