I wouldn't be the least bit concerned with whether or not the speaker I liked was capable of bi-wiring. Find the speaker you like first and simply reterminate your cables to accomodate them.

I agree. Buy the speakers that you want and worry about the cables later. The differences in cables and cabling configuration are minor in comparison.

I'm curious why you seem so set on buying bi-wirable speakers based on your having bi-wired cables. This seems akin to buying extra large shoes because you happen to have long laces on hand. Do you have a substantial investment in a custom terminated cable? If you don't wish to reterminate, and have spades, you could always put 2 leads on a terminal for single wired speakers. You'd have more options if you relaxed your criteria. That said, I like Vandersteens for bi-wirable speakers.

Heed what Jeff, Elk and Monty tell you, i.e.; buy the speaker that sounds good to you and don't worry about bi-wiring.
As for the JMlab 716s;it's last years model, get the 716V, it sounds much better. Depending on the size of your room I'd go for the 726V. If your room, and wallet, are big enough go for the 816V or 826V. I've listened to them all and all are worth the price.
Something to consider in the equation is with what electronics you will be driving the speakers.
