Being a fan and owner of ESL speakers I make it my business to hear as many of them as possible. I heard a pair of Audiostatics several years ago. I liked them a lot! They look very good and have a high SAF.
I've also liked what I've heard from them.
Any updates on the possible acquisition?
Did you listen to them? Did you like them? Have you bought them? Inquiring minds want to know.
Yes, yes, yes. I bought them and they are out of this world, sonically that is. You'd think that they didn't exist. Wonderful soundstage, crisps highs and beautiful mids. They are my first listening to electrostatics but let me tell you I didn't know my CD's sounded so good before now. I'm using an ASL-1006DT preamp, Shanling T-80 CD player, and Bryston 4B-ST power amp. I have good bumps each time I turn them on. One thinh though you have to turn them on and the power amp and pre about 20 minutes before you do any serious listening because the panels have to be "charged".

My ESL's have no on/off switch. They are plugged in and energized all the time. Are you saying you unplug or turn them off between listening sessions? With the minimal drain ESL speakers have on wall current leaving them energized all the time makes sense.
JoeE is right, leaving them on all the time is cheap and, I think, better for the speakers.
Also, some people say it can take up to 24 hours to fully "charge" a panel and have it reach steady state and have it sound its best.
