Well, for openers, I'm really not surprized - Sony, copy protection schemes, come on. They really have a remarkable faculty for getting it wrong don't they. Beyond that, since I've never believed that Blu-ray was likely to offer any benefit to us audio nuts, I guess I don't particularly care either.

It makes parents like me very leary of buying a PS3 for my son at Christmas. At the $499 and $599 price tag it had better not be a mistake. And the reality is that unless you couple it with a HD capable video screen which add hundreds of more dollars this could be the $$$$Grandest of all mistakes.

The problem is our children do not understand all this technical gobledygook, they just want to have fun playing games with a great picture. When you think of all the PS3 is supposed to be it seems a good value, but short of full operation it may make the XBox 360 worth looking at.

No wonder many of us remain "trapped" in the excellence of 2 channel audio. Simple is as simple does, Sir!
