Rehdeko

In an effort to preserve a piece of audio history, I have PDFed an article written by Rehdeko about their philosophy behind designing their loudspeakers. This article is very interesting and I find it to be as valuable as the literature Paul Klipsch used to publish back in the day. Please remember this article was loosely translated from French, so when they say "measurements that slice" laugh a little!

For those who are not familiar with Rehdeko loudspeakers, they were a French outfit that made a line of revolutionary single driver/full range loudspeakers in the 80's and 90's.

Do also refer to the complimentary things Ken Kessler had to say about Rehdeko in the June 2006 issue of HiFi News when he found to his amazement that they were used by Dartzeel as their reference speakers.

Yeah I was totally put off by what Ken said, I am not sure if he just hated Rehdeko that much or just trying to take a cheap shot at other reviewers who swear by them.

What I do know is that Dartzel, Crimson Electronics and DNM Electronics all use Rehdeko 175's as their reference to this Day! These companies as many know are held in the deepest of regard for their ability to build some of the best electronics bar none, to suggest they are deaf as Ken did really makes me wonder what is going on.

Anyway, I hope some of you all have been able to check out the documents, I know they are in PDF format, trust me it is worth messing with it.

Could purchase a Rh 145, played with DNM PA1, DNM cable, resolution audio cantata 3.0, rose music server. Some tunings where done. And now all this electronic played from a power bank.
I hear most of the time classical music. What to say? Best system I have ever heard, by far. Musicality is spot on, resolution is extreme, and the stage is the best I have ever heard. It's as near to live experience as it could. Could have more volume in the bass (they are otherwise perfect).
Because of the extrem resolution, the signal has to be of highest quality. Every weakness of the system could become disturbing. To power the whole system with a power bank makes a difference: the sound is more clear and more natural, the resolution is even better.
The experience of this sound is mind-blowing and addictive...
A friend of mine purchased the RK 125, driven by two crimson monos and nad cd-player. The same experience of overwhelming musicality. The RK 125 didn't have this extreme second driver for the trebble (going up to 200kHz I read). So the RK 125 sounds warmer but lacks the extreme resolution, the quite perfect live like sound of the instrments and sense of room of the RK145. That the trebles of the RK125 are not pushed in a so extrem manner makes the speaker less prone to harshness and unbalanced sound.
For me there is no question that Rehdeko builds by far the most musical pieces of speakers.
For comparison, I heard the heavy tuned KEF blade (the top one, adding 50% of the price for the tunings) on heavy tuned top electronics: very impressive, especially the bass. But the middle and treble didn't transmit this sheer lightness, dynamic, directness, and accuracy of the instruments. Same with the top Burmester, Wilson, or JBL: all very impressive but the music sounds not so natural, so close to life experience. Beside the RK 145 I listen with the focal utopia and audeze LCD-i4 as my best headphones (on a chord hugo MK1 or balanced on a sony WM1Z with single-core silver cables). This headphones also don't manage to produce this fully convincing natural sounding experience. They sound like excellent hifi-products. The Rehdeko sounds like real instruments are playing.
