I have some White Zombie single ended interconnects (solid silver with clear Teflon insulation.) If you can get them at the sale prices on eBay, they're a decent value. The consistency of the build quality leaves much to be desired. But, the guy has integrity, and redid 3 sets I was unhappy with (he feared negative feedback on eBay.) Even with quite a lot of burn in, they seem a tad sibilant. I'm currently using them with my phono stage. It's possible they're just revealing a flaw in that. I haven't had time to try them out on my digital front end in my main rig or my headphone rig. I had planned on trying them out for things other than my phono, but, have been too busy. A friend of mine in Canada is using a set, and heard a difference in sound with the interconnects reversed. The ground wire seems to be connected on both ends, so, technically the cables shouldn't be directional. Perhaps, there is something to the directionality of the crystalline structure. Who knows? In any case, he likes them. If I have time this weekend, I'll try the interconnects on my digital front end and report back.

Do make sure to burn them in for a couple hundred hours. The sound changes a fair amount.

Hi Jeff
Re: Your canadian friend.Isn't there a possibility since we are talking about hand made cables from a diy guy that the construction isn't okay ie he did something wrong in making them?perhaps that is why in your buddy's system work well.
I bought a case full of cables from such a guy and one of them had the ground connected incorrectly producing hum.It was a single ended ic with one end in xlr termination if that makes any difference.I would suggest you check the cables both sides without letting it to break-in hopefully this way you might be able to hear if there is something wrong with the construction. Hey , just a thought !

Yiamgos - It's possible, but, the redone sets are made pretty nicely. I checked all the sets out carefully. My friend's set is one of the three that I had redone. I suspect my system is more revealing than his (which is headphone based using a PC as a source, but, a Stello 220 DAC.) That said, my phono stage is probably the weak link in my system, as it is a card in my GamuT preamp.
