For the money you are talking about I would look at the MAudio audiophile 2496 card. It is a stereo card, but the quality for the money is excellent. $99.
MAudio Cards
The 44 is 4 channels of I/O and the 10/10 is more channels which if you are into multi-track recording could be fun. These are still in your price range.
Sound Card Reviews
Check out the links and I would look futher on a web search by typing in: Computer sound card reviews and then follow the links.
Yeah, now I have been told that there is no point for me to get E-MU b/c even an audiophile should do fine. Could you recommend me great speakers within the range of $150-300? I heard that Klipsch is great, but it only lasts a year.
Speakers in the range of $15,000-$30,000 Ya gotta go Legacy Whisper.
You cannot put the words "great speakers" and $300 together. Sorry. Listenable: Try the Epos ELS 3, with Warfdale, NHT, and others in the mix as well. Check "Philes" recent reviews of mini monitors as many have gotten high praise at this price point. Adding a good sub and you can create some magic.
I would also look at the Totem Dreamcatcher and check available pricing on the Triangle Titus. You will above $400 but it is worth the extra cash. Klipsch is not in the same league with the above in MHO.
If you cheap out here everything in front will suffer. This is the beginning of buyer's remorse.
Nah, at that price range the MBL 111E is the way to go.
