As I recall, forum member, Jim Tavegia, has this player and likes it quite a bit.

Absolutely. It might make you think that "perfect sound forever" is a reality. OK, maybe that is a stretch, but for the money it is one fine player. I will admit that the field in the $1k Cd player range is getting crowded with Marantz and others, some with SACD capability that should not be over looked.

That new Quad CD-P has me drooling after WP's review. Of Course it could be that I am just getting way to old. You should audition the Jolida. The modded Music Hall 25.2 from underwoodhifi should be looked at as well.

Regards,

Jim, Thanks for the response. Actually , I'm currently using a Rotel CDP 1072 and planning to upgrade it. My friend in the other state is recommending the Jolida (upgraded to Sylvania ), but honestly, I have not seriously auditioned it.

Unfortunately, the Quad is not available here.

Hi,

I am spanking new to this forum. My Rega Apollo is on its way. I have auditioned the Rega Apollo/Mira 3/R5 speakers several times in store and at home and decided to buy them. I loved the system although the top loading CD player is not for everyone, I heard.

Is the CDP-1072 different than the current model, the RCD-1072?

I have been told that the RCD-1072 is the best-sounding player under $3000.

I'm looking to upgrade, I need the BEST sounding SACD/CD player under $30,000...Oh, I already got a bunch of them, they all cost well under $30,000. Never mind.

That's great! I think the Rega Apollo is easily the best sounding player mentioned here. I just got a chance to hear the new Rega Saturn player yesterday. It is simply amazing and way better than even the Apollo. It will be considerably more expensive however so the Apollo will remain the value leader for some time.

Rega apollo is considered the best value for money cdp. Compared to other tube cdp, the clarity is really revealing. Ill tell you nothing can be compared on its price range.
